Ce document vous dévoile les étapes de création d’une des cases les plus complexes du nouvel album, véritable prouesse technique signée Didier Conrad. Le dessinateur détaille son processus de création : « Il y a plusieurs étapes. Il y a le découpage, très précis, qui met tous les éléments en place. Le crayonné, ensuite, est une sorte de remise au modèle pour être sûr que le trait colle au style d'Uderzo. L'encrage, enfin, emballe le tout pour que la dynamique fonctionne. Il y a toujours un petit réajustement, parce que ces étapes ne sont jamais réalisées en continu. Chaque étape est souvent réalisée à plusieurs semaines, voire à plusieurs mois, de distance. Aussi, quand Rome envoie un questeur pour vérifier ses comptes, il l'empoisonne. Mais le questeur fait appel à Panoramix, qui a besoin pour pouvoir le soigner de faire une potion à base d'Edelweiss. Voilà donc Astérix et Obélix partis en Suisse, engagés dans une course contre la montre pour cueillir et rapporter une de ces fleurs. Ils devront aussi échapper aux légionnaires que le gouverneur de Genève, ami du gouverneur de Rennes, a lancé à leurs trousses.

César vient de soumettre l'Hispanie à Rome. Enfin presque, car un petit village résiste encore et toujours à l'envahisseur. Il capture alors le fils du chef du village et l'envoie en otage au camp de Babaorum afin qu'il y reçoive une éducation romaine. Mais les Gaulois récupèrent le petit garçon et Astérix et Obélix se chargent de le ramener dans son village en Hispanie. Lors de ce long voyage, ils devront lutter contre les Romains qui veulent récupérer l'otage et ... contre les caprices du petit garçon !
