Thé-au-lait Trempé est un acquisiteur, pas un voleur. C'est un fait que la nuance ne fait pas vraiment le poids auprès des autorités locales, mais tant que les enfants ont de quoi manger et que personne ne remarque la cordonnerie murée dans l'Allée de la Rédemption, Théo peut arriver à ignorer sa conscience qui le titille. Malheureusement, Thé-au-lait se retrouve sous les feux de la rampe, si on peut dire, lorsqu'il sauve un jeune chevalier de la mort. Soudain, la guilde des assassins est à ses trousses, et le meilleur espoir pour Théo est la maigre trace que lui a laissée l'un des meilleurs de la guilde. LES ANNEAUX démarre là où LES FLÉCHETTES s'était arrêté, à la poursuite de Thé-au-lait au plus profond des allées d'Ector et plus proche encore d'un conflit entre les forces de l'ordre et du chaos.

Mauvaise soirée pour Thé-au-lait. Il a faim, il est trempé et il est fatigué. Il s'est cogné à la guilde des assassins, perdu un sac de marchandises volées et a parié son dernier denier sur le champion local de fléchettes, alors qu'il aurait dû ramener du pain à ses enfants. Pastiche des histoires de sorcellerie et d'épées, « Les Fléchettes » représente les personnages-types et les symboles du fantastique que les fans adorent (et détestent) et explore leurs motivations profondes en nous rappelant qu'il n'est pas facile de se trouver un meilleur ami.
