New Releases by Bernardette Costa

Take the first really big snowfall of the season, add six adventurous young sisters, and what do you get? Fun and surprises, that's what!

The Six Colorful Annies is a beautifully illustrated children's picture book which celebrates the first significant snowfall of the season – just in time for a white Christmas. How the six adventurous sisters make the most of this event recaptures nostalgic moments for the adult and endless possibilities for the young reader.
As many children tend to do, each of the “Annies” has her favorite color. The story uses these preferences to build suspense and humor. The illustrator, Linda Buckley, has made skillful use of the vibrant colors of the color wheel, including primary, secondary and complementary colors. The resulting children's picture book is both entertaining and educational.
The author and the illustrator are educators who grew up in South Brunswick, New Jersey and now live in rural New Hampshire. Mrs. Costa grew up in a large family of seven children, four of them girls, and Mrs. Buckley is the mother of six adventurous girls of her own.
