Quizás la obra de Fuentes en la que el realismo mágico aparece de manera más exacerbada en historias que van desde la sencillez de la pincelada descriptiva de la muerte, la vida o el amor (en Constancia) hasta un tríptico español de toros y teatro con el nexo incongruente y atemporal de Goya. No se busque aquí una narración anodina o complaciente, sino trazos mezclados que nos presentan, en ocasiones, excelentes resultados descriptivos.
