Learning in the Round: Moving Forward with Restorative Practice Activities for Classroom Learning Circles is a student workbook designed to assist students in engaging and participating in classroom learning circles. The student handbook offers teachers and students a chronological system to start restorative circle learning in the classroom. As an opening activity, the students will write a dedication page in their workbook to acknowledge and thank the people who have supported and inspired them in their lives. The lessons start with an introduction to restorative learning circles and how to incorporate a talking piece. The progression of lessons include building communication through active listening and speaking from the heart as well as designing a cohesive and trusting classroom community. The lessons will empower students to have voice and equity in the classroom. Each lesson has three parts: a pre-circle reflection, the circle activity, and a post-circle reflection. This workbook can be used during circle learning to assist students and teachers in building proactive, positive school communities. The majority of Program Administrators had positive perceptions of simulations as an effective tool for improving SRNAs knowledge and technical skills. Program Administrators had mixed perceptions towards the use of simulation in lieu of clinical experiences. However, many programs used simulation for their SRNAs to meet graduation requirements. Over half of Program Administrators felt the COA’s 2022 change to remove simulation from counting towards graduation requirements would negatively impact their programs. Regionally, results showed disparities in abilities to meet clinical requirements in the clinical setting without the use of simulation. Anticipated changes made by the COA in regards to clinical requirements must be further explored and re-evaluated as they may disproportionately impact certain regions, delay graduations of these critical health professionals, and lead to greater expense for programs and students.

The geographic range of Catherine Sullivan's imagination extends from Chechnya to Hollywood and wanders even further afield psychologically In her theatrical video projections, sometimes entailing as many as five screens, Sullivan explores the principles of dramatic convention and the mechanics of expression, with a particular interest in doubling, repetition, and site specificity in performance as a way of cracking open meaning. Brechtian stylization combined with mysterious choreography and props give her work a look and tension distinctive in contemporary art. This monograph includes both large video works like Five Economies (big hunt/ little hunt) (about Helen Keller, among many more things) as well as sculpture, film stills and single-channel works.

Los Angeles-based artist Catherine Sullivan creates radically hybrid works that combine performance, installation art, dance, traditional theatre and Hollywood cinema. Five Economies (big hunt), a five screen video installation, mixed and matched scenes and acting styles taken from The Miracle Worker, Marat/Sade, Persona, Tim and Whatever Happened To Baby Jane, as well as real life instances of virtuoso acting such as the story of Birdie Jo Hoaks, a 25 year old female who passed as a 12 year old boy in order to gain state social services. In black and white, and completely soundless, big hunt forces its audience to read drama and plot on the basis of the semiotics of gesture and mise-en-scene. This catalogue is illustrated by numerous video stills from Five Economies, and photographs of Gold Standard, the high-energy performance directed by Sullivan that took place at The Renaissance Society exhibition opening, which featured 6 pairs of actors all simultaneously acting the learning-to-eat-with-a-spoon scene between Helen and Annie from The Miracle Worker. Hamza Walker's essay discusses Five Economies' relationship to Modernist formalism and essentialism regarding media; Russell Ferguson and Sullivan talk about her working methods and the theories of acting and theatre that are the foundation of her practice. How do people survive each day? What keeps them going? Is there a guiding sense of purpose? How do they use the power of language to cope with ordinary life? Inspired by the works of Studs Terkel and others, Catherine Sullivan Norton conducted a series of interviews with persons who represent a sample of the population effectively coping with life. Over a period of seven months she interviewed forty-six people in a small Midwest town. The twenty-five men and twenty-one women, whose ages range from eighteen to seventy-four, represent many segments of society. Drawing from more than a thousand pages of dialogue, Norton has made their words the key feature of her work. At the heart of this book are the real-life working metaphors people use to give meaning to their lives. Each individual’s personal metaphor has the power to articulate what "life is like" for him or her. A trained communicator, Norton began her research with the idea that people use metaphor in their daily lives to help them cope. She soon discovered that people confront life and resolve problems by using powerful metaphors and supportive stories to sustain them. When the interviews were completed Norton was surprised to discover how hard people’s lives are, how well they cope, and what clear vision they have. In chapter one Norton specifically asks "How does language help us cope?" It examines the relationship between metaphor and coping, introducing the concept of a life metaphor. Chapter two develops the idea of a life orientation, showing how it fits into this study. The next four chapters describe the life orientations as reflected in the chapter titles: The Antagonist, The Enthusiast, The Fatalist, and The Spectator. In the final chapter Norton offers conclusions drawn from the interviews. In an appendix she explains her methods.
