Denude

release date: Sep 05, 2018
Denude
To Denude is to strip (something) of its covering, possessions, or assets; to make bare. The origins of the word Odalisque are oda (chamber) and lik (function). Chamber-function. The drawings in Denude are altered reproductions of Reclining Nudes and Odalisques throughout Western Art History. Each has been reduced by the artist to its ubiquitous form: the horizontal curvaceous female torso. In Denude, Jaeger has assembled the drawings into a flip book of a twisting figure, flattening any spatial or temporal context. To complete this dance across the pages, the drawings are aligned by the belly button to the same spot on each page, with the same radius to the nipples and the crotch. Peradam's first edition was printed single-sided with a soft cover in 2017. This second edition is hardcover clothbound, and organized double-sided so that if all the pages were transparent, the torsos would superimpose to make one form.

In Case of Fire

release date: Jan 01, 2017
In Case of Fire
For her first onestar press project Elizabeth Jaeger has compiled a list of objects, mostly mundane and small in size, that she keeps as her personal source of inspiration; from a "Childhood soap dish" to "Petals from dead bouquet", compiling a very personal self portrait of the artist. The immediacy of the artist's book title "IN CASE OF FIRE" perfectly highlights the selected objects of her collection as both "souvenir" and "tool" for the development of her artistic vocabulary. Elizabeth Jaeger herself can truly be found in this humble and emotional book for which the artist photographed and designed the layout as well. [onestar press]. Cover: Paperback, color, glossy finish. Binding: glue bound. Interior: black and white

Reward Preferences in Domestic Horses (Equus Caballus)
The present study examined stress response in domestic horses (Equus caballus) to determine if horses show preference for either traditional or natural horsemanship training methods to test the hypothesis that natural horsemanship would induce less stress. Our results show that natural horsemanship rewards elicited lower stress response in horses.
