Life with Daddy

release date: Dec 09, 2025
Life with Daddy
Helen Annette (Pollard) Cole was born in Dunlap, New Mexico. She was barely six years old when her mother died. This book completes her lifelong dream writing about life with her Daddy. Following graduation as valedictorian of her high school, she was married sixty-eight years to the love of her life, Everett. Together they raised four children and had many journeys. Immediately following graduation, she was offered a job in a bank. Her amazing personality and joyous smile opened job opportunities, and she began a banking career spanning over fifty years. As a teller, it wasn't uncommon for people to wait in her line just to get that special attention that she gave to everyone. Her kindness and servant attitude spilled over in her community, church, and home. Helen loves Jesus and stands bold in her faith. She is a great role model for others as a Christian, friend, wife, and mother. Although her life was deprived of so much, she didn't become bitter or have self-pity for living a childhood of poverty. Each day is faced with a positive and loving attitude, always putting herself last and others first.

Rising and Falling

Rising and Falling
Despite the usefulness of the internet, Australia has no formal national book arts associations other than some state craft bookbinding groups. Only one publication, the Print Council of Australia's journal, Imprint regularly covers artist's book activity. The book arts scene in Australia is fragmented, pulled together by events. Awards, symposia, book fairs and publications tend to happen for a period of time then disappear. Exhibitions pop up sporadically, depending on the energy and commitment of individuals, usually organized by the artists themselves. --Article abstract.

Bumpings and Blessings

release date: Oct 01, 2012
Bumpings and Blessings
Born as a surprise gift to her grandparents, Helen Marie Cole Littleton began her life in 1914, with her mother and grandparents on a farm in Boone County near Valley Springs in northern Arkansas. It was a life full of surprises, twists and turns, and lessons galore as Helen experienced a country going through its own share of adversities. Written to express rather than impress, Bumpings and Blessings presents Helen's candid, charming depiction of places, events, and people she encountered in her eighty years. From surviving the Great Depression and enduring the tragic loss of her husband during World War II to being a single mother with five children and finding love again in her later years, Helen shows how she never allowed the roller coaster of life to bring her down. Her story is one of faith, love, and perseverance, traits that guided Helen Marie and her family through trials and hardships. Indeed, Helen Marie's story is indicative of why her generation is now known as the Greatest Generation, demonstrating why it is crucial that we remember their sacrifices and tremendous challenges. Infused with a quaint, old-fashioned flavor, Bumpings and Blessings shares the vivid sights and sounds of an American era that has passed into history, but is certainly not forgotten.
