The first Australian-built Ford was a Model T that came off an improvised production line in a disused Geelong woolstore in June 1925, while work started on a factory in the nearby suburb of Norlane. In 1928 the factory switched to the Model A and was followed by the Ford V8 in 1932.In 1956 the company bought a large tract of land in the northern Melbourne suburb of Broadmeadows, and in July 1961 announced that the new Melbourne factory would become the company headquarters. On the 23 May 2013, Ford announced that its factories in Geelong and Broadmeadows would be closed down in October 2016.

Hoarding has long been conceptualized as a symptom of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD; see for example, Rasmussen & Eisen, 1992). However, data demonstrate important differences between hoarding and OC symptoms (e.g., treatment response; see Black et al., 1998; Rufer, Fricke, Moritz, Kloss, & Hand, 2006), and some studies have related hoarding to disorders other than OCD, such as specific Impulse Control Disorders (ICDs; e.g., kleptomania, trichotillomania, pathological gambling, compulsive buying). Therefore, there has been recent debate regarding the primary conceptualization of hoarding as OCD. This study tested the hypothesis that hoarding would be as strongly related to ICDs as to OCD in an undergraduate sample. Results showed that hoarding was as strongly related to compulsive buying as it was to OCD, that all domains of hoarding (clutter, acquisition, difficulty discarding) were important in compulsive buying and OCD, and that indecisiveness may be a particularly important underlying feature in hoarding.
