This book explores the application of psychological theories to tourist behaviour and experiences. It traces the evolution of those theories and how they have changed in response to broader social and economic changes. Among those changes have been the development of tourism, which reflects those social changes and contributes to them. In doing so, tourism theories also contribute to and gain insights from emergent psychological theories including those derived from the neurosciences. The book provides both undergraduate and postgraduate students with an understanding of core psychological perspectives derived from both humanistic and empirical psychology and their application to tourist behaviours and experiences.

Although one segment of the proactive cybersecurity debate--e.g., hack back--has long been derided as a policy option carrying with it great risks of escalation, among other concerns, elements within the U.S. Congress and abroad are actively pushing to give companies a freer hand at defending themselves against cyber attackers. This Article compares several of these efforts, focusing on the so-called Graves bill in the United States with the experiences of China, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, and the G7. Given the Republican National Committee''s 2016 embrace of active defense principles, even as some firms like FireEye have begun to publicly admit to hacking back, the time has come to take a fresh look at the implications of this regulatory trend for both business integrity and international security.

The microbiota-gut-brain axis is central to maintaining normal intestinal physiology. Patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) can experience stress-induced disease exacerbations, and a strong association with psychiatric comorbidities. Gene mutations in components of innate immunity, such as Nod-like receptors, have been linked to the development of IBD. How an altered intestinal immune response changes behavior, either at baseline or following exposure to stress, is currently unknown.

Surveillance has long been used as an enforcement tool to detect conventional crimes and identify and punish offenders. However, its watchful gaze has been strategically directed away from the area of corporate crime. Corporate crime has long been under-studied and under-researched, despite the fact that the damages it causes amount to millions, even billions, of dollars. Its omission from the surveillant gaze, however, has been no accident. Because corporate offenders hold higher positions in society and possess greater political and economic resources than conventional street criminals, corporate offenders have often been able to resist the regulatory attempts against them. This thesis explores the underuse of surveillance as an enforcement tool in corporate crime, but also examines the regulatory climate that perpetuates this. It explores the main tools for addressing criminal and regulatory violations that are used by law enforcement agencies charged with enforcing corporate crime. This thesis identifies and examines five barriers - cultural, political, economic, legal, and technological - that have acted to limit and even prevent surveillance as a tool of regulation against corporate crime. Through an analysis of academic literature and public sources, this thesis assesses the small number of initiatives where surveillance strategies have been attempted in the field of corporate crime and investigates the reasons the attempts have been limited in number, scope and effect. The aim of this thesis is to draw attention to underuse of surveillance in corporate crime and question the current regulatory framework.
