HOPE
Hope… what is Hope? Hope is something we rely on to get us through the toughest times in life, especially when we think there is no hope at all. Unfortunately, life can be that way, especially when there is no help to support us in our time of need. With that said, we have to remember that there is always hope, no matter what life can throw at us. Sometimes the circumstances can be awful, that is for sure, but the lack of support is what really makes it all so much worse than it should ever be. With all this said, no matter how bad things can get, there is always hope, no matter what. This book is a testimony about my life, and it is just one of many that can always show us hope, no matter what life can throw at us. Unfortunately, to understand hope, we sometimes have to understand hopelessness. For us to understand hope, we sometimes need to understand what it is really like to weather the storm. If we are really ready to get to know what hope really is, then please proceed with reading this book. Above all else, no matter what happens, please remember that hope is always there… always. No matter what, let there be Hope.

As Osaka Maru steams into the port town of Kure, the great, grey war-making vessels of the Imperial Japanese Navy are making steam. The boy at the bow wonders where they are headed.Once ashore, he finds Kure changed beyond recognition. The boy is returning to Japan, to the only family he knows, his uncle and aunt and his cousin, Kazuo. It is seven years since he last saw his homeland. When she shows a photo of her husband flying his Nakajima torpedo bomber, wearing a white hachimaki tied around his forehead, a samurai of the sky, he is immediately seen as a hero. The Englishwoman invites the boy to stay with her until he can find his family. In exchange, he agrees to restore the samurai's garden. Age of Indulgence

release date: Apr 06, 2009
Age of Indulgence
Greed, egos, feelings of superiority; all are reasons why we, the authors, have published this book. Although accounting firms are trusted by millions of executives, stockholders, and small business owners, they are hiding dirty little secrets that have never been made public. The accounting firms' "Age of Indulgence" has been in place for decades, but really exploded after SOX was enacted in 2002. Revenue soared and accounting firms, not clients, were in control. Indulgent expenses swelled and billable hours skyrocketed. The egos grew: $1,000 dinner - no problem; bar tabs every night - of course. Partners would scoff at the expenses because they knew the clients would pay for it. This egotistical attitude spread through the ranks like the plague, and soon associates were padding expense reports to make some extra cash. All of the stories within this book have been corroborated. It is our goal to shed light on this situation and expose the accounting firms' "Age of Indulgence".

They Cleared the Lane
Today, black players compose more than eighty percent of the National Basketball Association?s rosters, providing a strong and valued contribution to professional basketball. In the first half of the twentieth century, however, pro basketball was taintedøby racism, as gifted African Americans were denied the opportunity to display their talents. ø Through in-depth interviews with players, their families, coaches, teammates, and league officials, Ron Thomas tells the largely untold story of what basketball was really like for the first black NBA players, including recent Hall of Fame inductee Earl Lloyd, early superstars such as Maurice Stokes and Bill Russell, and the league?s first black coaches. They Cleared the Lane is both informative and entertaining, full of anecdotes and little-known history. Not all the stories have happy endings, but this unfortunate truth only emphasizes how much we have gained from the accomplishments of these pioneer athletes.
