Pogo: The Complete Daily & Sunday Comic Strips (Collections) (4 Book Series)
From Book 1: Walt Kelly blended nonsense language, poetry, and political and social satire to make Pogo an essential contribution to American “intellectual” comics. As the strip progressed, it became a hilarious platform for Kelly’s scathing political views in which he skewered national bogeymen like J. Edgar Hoover, Joseph McCarthy, George Wallace, and Richard Nixon. Walt Kelly started when newspaper strips shied away from politics ― Pogo was ahead of its time and ahead of later strips (such as Doonesbury and The Boondocks) that tackled political issues. Our first (of 12) volume reprints approximately the first two years of Pogo ― dailies and (for the first time) full-color Sundays. This first volume also introduces such enduring supporting characters as Porkypine, Churchy LaFemme, Beauregard Bugleboy, Seminole Sam, Howland Owl, and many others. And for Christmas, 1949, Kelly started his tradition of regaling his readers with his infamously and gloriously mangled Christmas carols.

But Siamese pedigrees are not like normal cats…

Before long Doreen’s world is turned upside down by the new arrival, and from that moment on she never looked back...

Petey & Pussy (Issues) (2 Book Series)
Petey and Pussy, John Kerschbaum's new graphic novel, reads very much like a Looney Tunes cartoon_if all of the anthropomorphic animals were kvetching, balding, foul-mouthed misanthropes. Each character is articulate (and, in fact, can speak directly to humans, well enough to order a beer) but still recognizably have the traits associated with their respective species: Pete, the dog, is happy-go-lucky; Pussy, the cat, is self-centered; and Bernie, the bird, is high-strung and constantly a-twitter. Together, they are the pets of a sweet old lady whose obliviousness to the lunacy unfolding around her is second only to her own hygienic repugnance. The Sisyphean struggles of the characters is brought to the fore_the cat is compelled to try and catch the mouse, the bird struggles to escape his cage_as the trio engage in slapstick adventures that are simultaneously given an edge and made hilarious by a twisted combination of mundane realism and insouciant gross-out humor.

By an Amazon Best-Selling author.

What a fun, happy book! Sophie sounds like someone I would love to have as my best friend. She's smart, funny, and isn't (too) afraid to take on the huge Max. This is the first of the series and I can't wait to read the 2nd book. This one just left me feeling happy and wanting more.

An absolutely hilarious must-read! This is a short novella, that can be read in one sitting and should totally be read by anyone in need of a pick-me-up. Very well written, witty and charming with a great cast of characters (both human and animal).

I dare anyone to not be totally enchanted with Max the German Shepherd. And while this book is light hearted and a feel good read, I really appreciate the author's bringing awareness to the problem of mistreated animals and overcrowded shelters and that she manages to do it in a way that is uplifting, not depressing.

Totally a series to watch, recommended to anyone and everyone.
With a healthy dose of Irish and Italian humor, get to know Sophie and friends, including a nearly blind kitten Max decides to add to the family.

When Sophie gets a dog, she has no idea what she’s in for. Boy does she find out! Max is the funniest, most lovable dog out there. This is a sweet and engaging story. I’m going to read all of the WOOF stories!

Cat vs Human (4 Book Series)
From Book 1:

Yasmine Surovec began sketching her clever and sarcastic Cat Versus Human cartoons as a way to relax and unwind. Soon, her popular blog at began receiving as many as 12,000 hits per day, with a number of posts going viral and appearing on popular Web sites such as The Huffington Post and I Can Has Cheezburger. Now, a selection of 100 Cat Versus Human strips--many never previously published--can be found inside this inaugural collection of Cat Versus Human.

Proud owners of Felis domesticus will instantly recognize Surovec's keen insights into cat behavior and all of the characteristic intricacies of the cat-human relationship, such as the allure of an empty cardboard box trumping an expensive battery-operated toy or how a cat's favorite nap spot might as easily be inside a litter box, on top of clean laundry, or directly on top of a human face. Cat Versus Human also encourages an affectionate look at your once-was-in-mint-condition midcentury modern sofa that is now being unstuffed one cat claw at a time.
