Paul Green's Wordbook: An Alphabet of Reminiscence
The culmination of more than sixty years of observing and collecting superstitions, customs, cures, riddles, games, stories, songs, and beliefs Paul Green's Workbook: An Alphabet of Reminiscence was published in 1990. A personal collection of folk traditions, Paul Green thought that these common idioms served to showcase the heritage of mankind. With roots in eastern North Carolina, Green took inspiration from his peers to write down the traditions of his home state in 1600 pages. The first rendition of Paul Green's Workbook was released in March 1937 by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and tentatively titled Folk Beliefs and Practices in Central and Eastern North Carolina 1926-28. It took Green most of his life to revise the workbook until it was in its final state in 1990.

Standardizing Minority Languages: Competing Ideologies of Authority and Authenticity in the Global Periphery (Routledge Critical Studies in Multilingualism)

This volume addresses a crucial, yet largely unaddressed dimension of minority language standardization, namely how social actors engage with, support, negotiate, resist and even reject such processes. The focus is on social actors rather than language as a means for analysing the complexity and tensions inherent in contemporary standardization processes. By considering the perspectives and actions of people who participate in or are affected by minority language politics, the contributors aim to provide a comparative and nuanced analysis of the complexity and tensions inherent in minority language standardisation processes. Echoing Fasold (1984), this involves a shift in focus from a sociolinguistics of language to a sociolinguistics of people.

The book addresses tensions that are born of the renewed or continued need to standardize ‘language’ in the early 21st century across the world. It proposes to go beyond the traditional macro/micro dichotomy by foregrounding the role of actors as they position themselves as users of standard forms of language, oral or written, across sociolinguistic scales. Language policy processes can be seen as practices and ideologies in action and this volume therefore investigates how social actors in a wide range of geographical settings embrace, contribute to, resist and also reject (aspects of) minority language standardization.

SHTF Prepping: The Ultimate Survival Hacks Bible for Urban Prepping Made Easy; Disaster Preparedness, Off Grid Living, and Stockpile Checklist to Live Free When SHTF

Emergency situations can strike without notice! Be prepared!

If an unexpected emergency event occurred right now, would you be ready? Or could your comfort and survival be in jeopardy? Do you have an adequate stockpile ready? Do you have a plan for defending yourself and your property? What about keeping clean and healthy? If you care about the health and safety of yourself and your family, you need to be able to answer these questions. It is nice to be optimistic, but in today's world we need to be prepared for the worst!

It isn't a matter of “if”, it is a matter of “when”!

Sooner or later, you will need to deal with an emergency situation. How you handle it could determine your survival. Whether it’s a flood, snowstorm, hurricane, war, or government corruption or collapse, you can brave just about any disaster if you’re ready for it! That’s what prepping is all about. This book gives you everything you need to know to prepare for any SHTF situation. This isn’t an “if” scenario, it’s a “when.” Most people live in ignorance, confident that their water will always be running, grocery stores will always be stocked with food, and the government will swoop in to rescue them if something goes wrong. When the inevitable happens, those people will be in serious trouble. Don’t live like that. Live self-sufficiently, and ready for survival. Living with reality in mind is the only way to ensure your own safety as well as the safety of those you care about. Knowing how to stockpile water, food, medical supplies, hygienic supplies, and everything else you need, can save your life and will definitely give you peace of mind.

Be prepared for survival communication

Disaster can strike at any time and you need to be prepared. But prepping isn't just limited to stockpiling water and canned goods in the basement. In order to survive, you will need access to information and communication with the outside world so you can maintain an active read on the situation as it develops. You will also need to understand how to maintain proper hygiene even without access to fresh or running water.

A complete survival guide – not just a book about hoarding!

Prepping is so much more than merely hoarding supplies, so this book also covers barter, how to survive in the city, how to survive in the wilderness, and how to prepare well on a small budget. This information is probably even more important than any physical items, because it teaches you how to be truly self-reliant and how to think like a prepper instead of only shopping like one. If you’ve ever watched the news and wondered what would happen if you were suddenly left without essential supplies and services, read this book and wonder no more.

How To Travel The United States (Safely): On a Hobo's Budget
I journeyed 50,000 miles this year, across the United States. I knocked out most of my ‘bucket’ list in a matter of 9 months, travelling cross-country. I experienced many things that most people never get to experience in their entire lifetime. I will tell you tips, tricks and secrets on how to travel safely and cheaply, while still getting a great experience out of your travels.

The tips in this ebook were not written by someone who never left their desk. I am a professional author who has sold over 80,000 ebook and audiobook units writing in different genres and under different pen names. I also sell travel photography on microstock websites from my travels.

I used these proceeds to fund my travels without having to work a full-time job. Don’t get me wrong – I used to do what you might be doing now… I worked a salary job earning big money, but one where I was nearly always on-call. Morning, noon and night, I paid my dues to ‘the man’. I was never allotted time by my employer or my teammates to take off for a short weekend trip to go camping or fishing, much less be able to leave the state for any length of time. This left me invariably stuck in the cold state of Wisconsin for over 40 years.

For 16 years, I wasn’t able to travel much at all. I sat in my cubicle, staring out the window, and dreaming of a day when I would be allowed to see and do things. When my 40th birthday came and went, and I began suffering a heart condition from chronic stress, I began to realize that my time was getting short. I realized that, eventually, I might not be able to do any of the things I wanted to do, much less knock off any of the items from my bucket list.

I decided the time was now. I buckled down, and I accomplished my dream of travelling nearly the entire 50 states in the United States. I don’t regret the 9 months that I spent on the road. I have enough stories from 9 months of travelling to share with others for the rest of my life.

It was one of the most exhilarating experiences that I have been through, and I only hope that some of you take the plunge and do the same. I hope that you decide to do it before your health deteriorates or before your memory fails or before World War III or another recession hit us. The time is now. Do what you love, and love what you do. If you get stuck, email me. I would be happy to help you on any part of your journey. I would also love to make a new friend.

Download now to learn how I traveled the United States on a hobo's budget, what I learned, what I recommend to you, and where I found cheap places to stay during my travels! Get ready for the experience of a lifetime! And, I want to hear about your trip when you get back at [email protected] Maybe you could even have dinner with an author!
