The Bands of Mourning

release date: Jan 26, 2016
The Bands of Mourning
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, the Mistborn series is a heist story of political intrigue and magical, martial-arts action. Three hundred years after the events of the Mistborn trilogy, Scadrial is now on the verge of modernity, with railroads to supplement the canals, electric lighting in the streets and the homes of the wealthy, and the first steel-framed skyscrapers racing for the clouds. The Bands of Mourning are the mythical metal minds owned by the Lord Ruler, said to grant anyone who wears them the powers that the Lord Ruler had at his command. Hardly anyone thinks they really exist. A kandra researcher has returned to Elendel with images that seem to depict the Bands, as well as writings in a language that no one can read. Waxillium Ladrian is recruited to travel south to the city of New Seran to investigate. Along the way he discovers hints that point to the true goals of his uncle Edwarn and the shadowy organization known as The Set. Mistborn: Secret History

release date: Jan 26, 2016
Mistborn: Secret History
Note: This novella is included in Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection, now available in print, ebook, and audiobook from Tor (US/Canada) and Gollancz (UK/Commonwealth). Mistborn: Secret History is a companion story to the original Mistborn Trilogy. As such, it contains huge spoilers for the books Mistborn (The Final Empire), The Well of Ascension, and The Hero of Ages. It also contains very minor spoilers for the book The Bands of Mourning. Mistborn: Secret History builds upon the characterization, events, and worldbuilding of the original trilogy. Reading it without that background will be a confusing process at best. In short, this isn’t the place to start your journey into Mistborn. (Though if you have read the trilogy—but it has been a while—you should be just fine, so long as you remember the characters and the general plot of the books.) Saying anything more here risks revealing too much. Even knowledge of this story’s existence is, in a way, a spoiler. There’s always another secret.

Shadows of Self

Shadows of Self
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, the Mistborn series is a heist story of political intrigue and magical, martial-arts action. Three hundred years after the events of the Mistborn trilogy, Scadrial is now on the verge of modernity, with railroads to supplement the canals, electric lighting in the streets and the homes of the wealthy, and the first steel-framed skyscrapers racing for the clouds. When family obligations forced Waxillium Ladrian to forsake the frontier lands and return to the metropolis of his birth to take his place as head of a noble House, he little imagined that the crime-fighting skills acquired during twenty years in the dusty plains would be just as applicable in the big city. He soon learned that there too, just being a talented Twinborn — one who can use both Allomancy and Feruchemy, the dominant magical modes on Scadrial — would not suffice. This bustling, optimistic, but still shaky society will now face its first test by terrorism and assassination, crimes intended to stir up labor strife and religious conflict. Wax, his eccentric sidekick Wayne, and brilliant, beautiful young Marasi, now officially part of the constabulary, must unravel the conspiracy before civil strife can stop Scadrial’s progress in its tracks. release date: Oct 06, 2015
Elantris
In 2005, Brandon Sanderson debuted with Elantris, an epic fantasy unlike any other then on the market. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Tor is reissuing Elantris in a special edition, a fresh chance to introduce it to the myriad readers who have since become Sanderson fans. This new edition begins with a preface by author Dan Wells, the first person to read the completed novel, and a new afterword by Sanderson explaining how he came to write the book and its place in the Cosmere, the unified universe of all his Tor novels. Also included is an expanded version of the "Ars Arcanum" appendix, with more of the technical details of the book's magic that fans can never get enough of. Elantris was truly a milestone both for Sanderson and for the genre of epic fantasy. It deserves this special treatment, something Tor has done only once before, with Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. Sanderson fans old and new will be excited to discover it.

The Scrivener's Bones

release date: Aug 27, 2018
The Scrivener's Bones
#1 New York Times bestselling author of the Mistborn series Brandon Sanderson continues the epic adventure he began in Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians... So if you haven’t read that one yet, put this book down, buy the first one (several copies!), read it, and come back when you know what the heck is going on. Go ahead. I’ll wait... Good, you’re back. So now you’ve read all about me, Alcatraz Smedry, and how I was swept out of my life in your normal world, and into the fight against the Librarians (jerks!). And after being all heroic and stuff in that tale I really didn’t expect much—though a huge parade would have been appreciated. Seriously, even a pizza party would have worked. I certainly didn’t expect to charge headlong into enemy territory—the Library of Alexandria, where I and my grandpa and my grouchy bodyguard Bastille and her even grouchier mother and some weirdly gifted cousins would face the Curators (ghosts who will gladly help you check out a book...as long as you don’t mind giving up your mortal soul) and some new, nasty Librarians who hate our guts—and would be happy to rip them out for us. But none of that comes close to the horror we would have to face if we succeeded in finding what we were searching for... MY DAD! (DUN DUN DUNNNNNN!) Big surprise there, right? Well, believe me—that’s not even close to the biggest surprise you’re going to get when you read this book... Praise for the Alcatraz series: “Like Lemony Snicket and superhero comics rolled into one (and then revved up on steroids).”—Publishers Weekly (Starred Review) “An excellent choice to read aloud to the whole family.” —NPR “Those who enjoy their fantasy with a healthy dose of slapstick humor will be delighted.” —School Library Journal “Genuinely funny...plenty here to enjoy.” —Locus “In this original, hysterical homage to fantasy literature, Sanderson’s first novel for youth recalls the best in Artemis Fowl and A Series of Unfortunate Events.” —VOYA

The Shattered Lens

release date: Aug 27, 2018
The Shattered Lens
The sci/fi fantasy adventures of Brandon Sanderson--#1 New York Times bestselling author of The Knights of Crystallia and the Mistborn series—have been praised as “genuinely funny” and “an excellent choice” and...and... ...and you know what? That’s enough. For too long, I’ve been telling you all how fantastic this Brandon Sanderson character is, and I’m just sick of it. Take it from me—I’ve actually met the guy. Now me? I can be impressive. Unfortunately, that’s usually when the trouble starts. But not this time! Honest! I mean, it’s hardly my fault that the kingdom of Mokia was about to fall to the evil forces of the Librarians. And it’s not really my fault if I sort of accidentally led a small force of freedom fighters to the Mokian capital of Tuki Tuki to help save the city and its brave people. And it’s definitely not my fault that the Librarians found out I was there and launched an all-out attack with giant robots and scary weapons that permanently knocked people out and blew huge holes in the ground and kidnapped people and then my Librarian mother showed up and ruined everything as usual while my father was too busy to care even though he’s the one who was going to unleash chaos on the world and my talent for breaking things was getting way out of control and I didn’t know what to do!!! (WHEW!) So...if you want to keep reading and find out what else was totally not—I repeat, NOT—my fault, go right ahead. Just don’t blame me if you can’t stop turning the pages.

The Knights of Crystallia

release date: Aug 27, 2018
The Knights of Crystallia
Brandon Sanderson--#1 New York Times bestselling author of The Scrivener’s Bones and the Mistborn series—returns with yet another action-packed, hair-raising, eye-popping, ear-flicking, tooth-picking, nose-licking... ...Sheesh! With all that buildup, even I can’t wait to see what happens in this story—and I’m the one who wrote it! Since you’re reading this, I’m going to assume you’re intelligent enough to have read both of my previous adventures as told by myself—the one and only Alcatraz Smedry (insert applause here)—and don’t need to be caught up. After braving many perils with my grandpa and our band of courageous comrades (we almost got killed a lot), I was finally going to visit Nalhalla, home of the Smedry family and of Crystallia, where Bastille—my Crystin Knight best friend/protector/tormentor—was trained. I knew I would love it. Especially since everybody there thinks I’m pretty much the greatest hero in the history of heroes. Hey, I’m not going to argue. Unfortunately, there’s trouble brewing (yeah, I know, big surprise). Because those dastardly Librarians are sending an ambassador for peace talks. And all they want in return for stopping the fighting is control over the proud realm of Mokia. Personally, I think the idea stinks on ice. And off ice. And without any ice. It just stinks. The problem is that not everyone in Nalhalla is as cool and tough and brave and handsome as I am (stop laughing!). And there are some who will do anything to suck up to those lying Librarian lowlifes—even if it means betraying everything the Free Kingdoms stand for. And if you’re as intelligent as I assume you are, you know that means I’m going to have to stop them. But how? Well, start reading and find out.

The Dark Talent

release date: Aug 27, 2018
The Dark Talent
#1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson’s Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians series comes to an electrifying conclusion... ...and it’s about time if you ask me. By “me” I of course mean me, Alcatraz Smedry. This is the last chapter of my autobiography, and was the hardest one for me to write. Because, in it—I’m not a hero. In fact, I’m the one who screwed everything up for everyone else. First off, my Talent for breaking things got a little out of hand, and I ended up destroying everyone else’s Talents. As in “anyone who was born with a Talent no longer has a Talent and might never get their Talent back”—and all because of a Talent of mine which I no longer have. Got it? Even worse, my best friend Bastille (she’s a girl, and a friend, but not really my girlfriend...I think?) was put in a coma by those Librarian slugs. So I owed them one for that. And worse than worse, I needed to enter the heart of Librarian power—the dreaded Highbrary—if I was ever going to bring Bastille back to life and stop my know-it-all hotshot renegade father from unleashing chaos all over the world just because he thinks it’s the right thing to do. I wasn’t sure I would make it out in one piece. Or two pieces. Or even ten pieces, considering how ticked off the Librarians were with me. So if you’re willing to read about a world full of deadly dangers and fearsome foes unlike anything you’ve read before, turn the page. After all, I made it out alive... Though someone very close to me didn’t.

Firefight

release date: Jan 06, 2015
Firefight
The #1 New York Times bestseller and sequel to Steelheart from Brandon Sanderson, the author of Oathbringer, coauthor of Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series, and creator of the internationally bestselling Mistborn trilogy, presents the second book in the Reckoners series: Firefight. And don’t miss Calamity, the exciting conclusion to the Reckoners series! Newcago is free. They told David it was impossible, that even the Reckoners had never killed a High Epic. Yet Steelheart--invincible, immortal, unconquerable--is dead. And he died by David's hand. Eliminating Steelheart was supposed to make life simpler. Instead, it only made David realize he has questions. Big ones. And no one in Newcago can give him answers. Babylon Restored, the city formerly known as the borough of Manhattan, has possibilities, though. Ruled by the mysterious High Epic Regalia, Babylon Restored is flooded and miserable, but David is sure it's the path that will lead him to what he needs to find. Entering a city oppressed by a High Epic despot is risky, but David's willing to take the gamble. Because killing Steelheart left a hole in David's heart. A hole where his thirst for vengeance once lived. Somehow, he filled that hole with another Epic--Firefight. And now he will go on a quest darker and even more dangerous than the fight against Steelheart to find her, and to get his answers. Praise for the Reckoners Series: #1 New York Times Bestselling Series “Another win for Sanderson . . . he’s simply a brilliant writer. Period.” —Patrick Rothfuss, author of the New York Times and USA Today bestseller The Name of the Wind “Action-packed.” —EW.com “Compelling. . . . Sanderson uses plot twists that he teases enough for readers to pick up on to distract from the more dramatic reveals he has in store.” —The A.V. Club

Oathbringer Part One
In Oathbringer, the third volume of the New York Times bestselling Stormlight Archive, humanity faces a new Desolation with the return of the Voidbringers, a foe with numbers as great as their thirst for vengeance. Dalinar Kholin's Alethi armies won a fleeting victory at a terrible cost: The enemy Parshendi summoned the violent Everstorm, which now sweeps the world with destruction, and in its passing awakens the once peaceful and subservient parshmen to the horror of their millennia-long enslavement by humans. While on a desperate flight to warn his family of the threat, Kaladin Stormblessed must come to grips with the fact that the newly kindled anger of the parshmen may be wholly justified.
