release date: Aug 22, 2020
The Collected Issues of Gray's Barker THE SAUCERIAN BULLETIN for the Years
Gray Barker (May 2, 1925 - December 6, 1984) was an American writer best known for his books about UFOs and other paranormal phenomena. His 1956 book They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers introduced the notion of the Men in Black to UFO folklore. He spent most of his life in central West Virginia, earning a degree from Glenville State College, teaching school, and booking acts for local theaters. Barker''s interest in unidentified flying objects was sparked by mysterious sightings of the Flatwoods Monster in 1952. Following the 1967 collapse of the Silver Bridge in Point Pleasant, Barker published his next book, The Silver Bridge, which popularized the Mothman legend. In 1983, he wrote MIB, The Terror Among Us, about the Men in Black.Saucerian Publisher was founded with the mission of promoting books in Science Fiction. Our vision is to preserve the legacy of literary history by reprint editions of books which have already been exhausted or are difficult to obtain. Our goal is to help readers, educators and researchers by bringing back original publications that are difficult to find at reasonable price, while preserving the legacy of universal knowledge. This book is an authentic reproduction of the original printed text in shades of gray. IMPORTANT: Despite the fact that we have attempted to accurately maintain the integrity of the original work, the present reproduction may have minor errors beyond our control like: missing and blurred pages, poor pictures and readers'' pencil markings from the original scanned copy. Because this book is culturally important, we have made available as part of our commitment to protect, preserve and promote knowledge in the world. These issues are an authentic reproduction of the issues of THE SAUCERIAN BULLETIN for the years: 1953-1962. Great, but unpretentious, these issues are extraordinarily rare symbols by themselves of what was going on in those early years of the modern UFO era. This collected edition has the following issues of THE SAUCERIAN: First Saucerian Bulletin Publication, December, 1953; Vol. 1 N. 1 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #7 March, 1956; Vol. 1 N. 2 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #8 May, 1956; Vol. 1 N. 3 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #9 September, 1956; Vol. 1 N. 4 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #10 October, 1956; Vol. 1 N. 5 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #11 November,1956; Vol. 2 N. 1 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #12 January, 1957; Vol. 2 N. 2 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #13 May, 1957; Vol. 2 N. 3 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #14 August, 1957; Vol. 2 N. 4 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #15 November, 1957; Vol. 3 N. 1 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #16 April, 1958, Vol. 3 N. 2 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #17 May,1958; Vol. 3 N. 3 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #18 June, 1958; Vol. 3 N. 4 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #19 October, 1958; Vol. 4 N. 1 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication issue #21 September,1959, Vol. 5 N. 1 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication issue #22 January, 1960; Vol. 5 N. 2 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #23 October, 1960; Vol. 6 N. 1 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #24 December, 1961, Vol. 7 N. 1 - Saucerian Bulletin Publication #25 October, 1962.___ Copy and paste the link for our books: https: //saucerianbooks.blogspot.com/ __

The Night the Earth Stood Still: the Strange Case of Indrid Cold

release date: Mar 09, 2021
The Night the Earth Stood Still: the Strange Case of Indrid Cold
In "The Night the Earth Stood Still: The Strange Case of Indrid Cold," legendary fringe publisher and author, Gray Barker, continues his "Strange Case" series by looking at one of the most controversial ufological figures of all time: Indrid Cold. Barker''s colorful writing influenced the plotlines of shows like Star Trek, Futurama, The X-Files, Twin Peaks, The Outer Limits, The Jetsons, Lost in Space, and The Twilight Zone. Shuttling between his Manhattan publishing office and his secluded cabin deep in the hills of his home state of West Virginia, the prolific Barker single-handedly kept public interest focused on UFOs during it leanest years, and introduced many themes still discussed by today''s paranormal and conspiracy researchers: the Roswell UFO, Men in Black, Ancient Aliens, Nazi UFOs, the Philadelphia Experiment, the Flatwoods Monster, Mothman, MJ-12, secret underground bases, little green men, and the Maury Island Incident. Was Indrid Cold a spaceman, Man in Black, interdimensional traveler, or simply a hoaxer? There is no doubt he was real, as he made contact with hundreds of people. Drawing on interviews with Cold''s primary contacts, as well as with "The Mothman Prophecies" author, John A. Keel, Barker looks at the factors that turned the elusive Indrid Cold into such a durable legend. Features an extended Epilogue by the editor, Andy Colvin. "One of my favorite UFO writers..." -David Bowie "A fascinating fellow..." -John Lennon "I remember [Barker''s] work fondly..." -Leonard Nimoy

In true newsletter style, these works shed urgent, much-needed light on a wide variety of ufological riddles, featuring noted Saucerian correspondents such as Jerome Clark, Ray Palmer, Kenneth Arnold, Richard Shaver, Arthur C. They Knew Too Much about Flying Saucers
New Saucerian proudly presents perhaps the most famous flying saucer book ever: Gray Barker''s "They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers!" From flying saucers to the underground denizens of Lemuria, it''s all here in this ufological classic. This 2014 reprint features the wonderful cover art from the dust jacket to the original hardback, first published in 1956. This edition faithfully reproduces the original, both inside and out, and is a great addition to any saucer collection. Barker''s answers shocked the world and raised awareness about the threat of the MIB. If you enjoyed Barker''s "Men in Black: The Secret Terror Among Us," you will enjoy this finely crafted star in the pulp pantheon.

Men in Black

release date: Jan 02, 2012
Men in Black
New Saucerian is proud to present "Men in Black: The Secret Terror Among Us," one of the last major works by West Virginia author Gray Barker, a legendary figure in the history of ufology. In many respects, this is the sequel to his earlier bestsellers "They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers" (a chronicle of the harassment faced by early UFO researchers) and "The Silver Bridge" (Barker''s on-the-scene investigation of the Mothman events of the 1960s). Since Barker died only a year after the release of "MIB: Secret Terror," it was not widely distributed. As such, it became enormously rare and expensive. Now, for the first time, it has been made available to the general public. Barker was the first researcher to coin the term "Men in Black" in the 1950s. Along with John Keel, author of "The Mothman Prophecies," Barker was responsible for making the subject famous. As a publisher and author, Barker popularized several classic parapolitical tales, such as the Flatwoods Monster saga, the Roswell Incident, the Philadelphia Experiment, and the Maury Island Affair. "MIB: Secret Terror" is thus an undiscovered gem for folkorists, UFO buffs, Forteans, cryptozoologists, and conspiracy theorists alike - the grand, final statement from a master of many genres. Within these pages, Barker ties together many of the shadowy threads exposed during his years as editor of "Saucer News" and Saucerian Press. Penned after the release of top-secret CIA and FBI files in the late 1970s, it constitutes a seasoned overview of the issues involved. In this taut, sober, and enlightening tale, the reader can sense what was really happening behind the scenes of ufology in West Virginia, Ohio, and other parts of the country. Due to the inherent penalties for revealing national security secrets (which the MIB seemed determined to prevent), this work is filled with hidden, symbolic clues. For those who can read between the lines, this may be Barker''s best book ever. This special 2014 edition features introductions by noted paranormal researchers Andy Colvin, Adam Gorightly, Allen Greenfield, and Nick Redfern, as well as extended original passages from trailblazing ufologists John Keel and Jim Moseley. "My ufological hero... Deserves to be read by one and all..." -Greg Bishop, editor of "The Excluded Middle" "Without Gray there would be no Men in Black mystery..." - Nick Redfern, author of "Memoirs of a Monster Hunter" and "On the Trail of the Saucer Spies" "Complex and intelligent... Be very careful..." -John Keel, author of "The Mothman Prophecies" and "The Eighth Tower" "A breath of fresh air... Well written, sometimes humorous, always entertaining. Pivotal in defining the flying saucer mythos..." - Adam Gorightly, author of "Shadow Over Santa Susana: Black Magic, Mind Control & the Manson Family Mythos" "One of the leading lights of classic, four-dimensional saucering..." -Jim Moseley, author of "Shockingly Close to the Truth: Confessions of a Grave-Robbing Ufologist" "Captures the emotional mood, gothic imagery, and sheer, dreamlike weirdness of the Men in Black even better than ''The Mothman Prophecies''" -Allen Greenfield, author "Secret Cipher of the UFOnauts" and "Secret Rituals of the Men in Black" "Transcendent, meaningful, and artistic..." - Andy Colvin, author "The Mothman''s Photographer" and "The Mothman Speaks"

The Most Interesting Man in the World: Nikola Tesla

release date: Mar 22, 2017
The Most Interesting Man in the World: Nikola Tesla
New Saucerian Press proudly presents "The Most Interesting Man in the World: Nikola Tesla" - one of the last books ever revised and re-released by the iconic publisher, literary historian, and bestselling author, Gray Barker, whose writing informed the plotlines of shows like Star Trek, The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, Lost in Space, The Jetsons, The X-Files, Twin Peaks, and Futurama.Shuttling between his Manhattan publishing office and a secluded cabin deep in the hills of his home state of West Virginia, the prolific Barker single-handedly kept public interest focused on "Fortean" topics during the lean postwar years, and introduced many paranormal themes still discussed and investigated by today''s cryptozoologists, ufologists, and conspiracy researchers: the Roswell UFO crash, Men in Black, Ancient Aliens, Nazi UFOs, the Philadelphia Experiment, the Flatwoods Monster, MJ-12, secret underground bases, little green men, time travel, and Bigfoot. In "The Most Interesting Man in the World," Barker carefully explains several of Tesla''s inventions in language that the average reader can understand. He also includes articles by Tesla experts Tom Bearden, William R. Lyne, and Fred Bobb, as well as several chapters written by Tesla himself, which presage the advent of radio, television, the Internet, satellites, cellphones, and lasers, proving just how far ahead of everyone else Tesla really was.

Chasing the Flying Saucers

release date: Jan 20, 2015
Chasing the Flying Saucers
In the late 1950s and early 1960s, the heyday of classic saucering, the most popular UFO magazine in the world was Ray Palmer''s "Flying Saucers." The most popular column in this widely distributed periodical was "Chasing the Saucers," a series authored by literary great Gray Barker. From his "secret" headquarters deep in the hills of West Virginia, Barker scoured newspapers and wire services from all over the world, bringing his fans the most up-to-date news on the latest UFO encounters and unusual "Fortean" events. At times sober and objective, at other times intimate, speculative, and self-deprecating, Barker displays the full palette of his trade, drawing the reader into his own unique and fascinating world - the world of the saucers. As one turns these pages, one learns much about what really happened in those halcyon days, and what was going on behind the scenes of ufology. Barker''s eye for detail and understanding of human psychology add special flair to this classic study of a true paranormal enigma. This special 2015 reprint provides in-depth coverage on several famous UFO cases (in many instances, the first reports ever generated about them), making "Chasing the Flying Saucers" an indispensable resource for today''s paranormal investigator. Also featured are enlightening introductions from two of Barker''s trusted friends and colleagues, editor Rick Hilberg and Prof. David J. Halperin. "A true master of suspense..." -UFO Magazine "One mystery delightfully studying another one..." -Tiny Tim "Responsible reportage from one of a very few privy to the secret of the saucers." -Commander X "A fabulous and rich blend of style and substance, without which the golden age of flying saucers might never have existed..."-London Monthly Journal

When Men in Black Attack: the Strange Case of Albert K. Bender

release date: Jan 01, 2015
When Men in Black Attack: the Strange Case of Albert K. Bender
In the year 1984, many Americans began to fear that the "surveillance state" predicted by George Orwell might be coming to pass. As a result, legendary writer and ufologist Gray Barker decided to revisit - and hopefully encapsulate - the strange case of Albert K. Bender, who was famously "hushed up" by three Men in Black in 1953 - despite heading up the largest and most successful civilian UFO organization in the world. Barker had discovered that the three MIB were under the employ of a race of "bisexual" space people from the planet "Kazik," who were harvesting Earth''s seawater from an underground base near the South Pole. These alien humanoids had gained control of Bender and spirited him off to Kazik, where he was forced to submit to three sexy, shapeshifting space "women." Drawing from articles in Saucer News and his three previous books on Bender and the Men in Black ("They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers," "Bender Mystery Confirmed," and "Men in Black: The Secret Terror Among Us"), Barker weaves a fantastic, unique, and memorable tale - one that came to influence several generations of saucer buffs and sci-fi enthusiasts, and inspired themes in popular television shows such as The Jetsons, X-Files, and Futurama. This special 2015 edition of "When Men in Black Attack: The Strange Case of Albert K. Bender" features an introduction from Jim Moseley, correspondence from Saucerian readers, previously unpublished transcripts of rare audiotapes (such as Bender''s one and only public lecture), and fascinating contributions from a variety of Barker cohorts, including author William S. Burroughs. "Complex, funny, and intelligent. Be very careful..." -John A. Keel "Without Gray, there would be no Men in Black mythos..." -Nick Redfern "A psychological tractor-beam from inner and outer space..." - Dr. Ogden Pearl

Gray Barker's Bigfoot Shootout! Terrifying Tales of Interspecies Conflict

release date: Dec 07, 2014
Gray Barker's Bigfoot Shootout! Terrifying Tales of Interspecies Conflict
New Saucerian proudly presents Gray Barker''s underground classic, Bigfoot Shootout: Terrifying Tales of Interspecies Conflict! This 1983 book, which was way ahead of its time (thirty years before shows like "Shooting Bigfoot"), features Barker''s musings on the unusual intersection of Bigfoot, UFOs, and firearms, as well as special reports submitted to him at his Saucerian headquarters in Riffle, West Virginia. This smorgasbord of high-strangeness delves into alarming matters such as Bigfoot surveillance of livestock and humans, the kidnapping of prospectors and hikers by Sasquatch, and the mystifying aerial lights that seem to provide "cover" for these dastardly deeds. Does Bigfoot occasionally kidnap, terrorize, hypnotize, and attack human beings? Can he shapeshift or disappear before your very eyes? If you shoot him point-blank with a machine gun, will he just laugh at you? Are the Apemen stockpiling weapons stolen from unwitting civilians, hoping to turn the tables at some future date? These questions and more are answered in this special 2015 reprint, which features intriguing contributions from researchers like Jim Moseley, Dennis Pilichis, Fred Beck, Janet and Colin Bord, Brent Raynes, Stan Gordon, Roger Patterson, Justin Smeja, Jeffery Pritchett, Dr. Ogden Pearl, and William S. Burroughs. "Sticks a big finger in the guns of Bigfoot hunters everywhere..." -Chip Plescher, "Mind Cemetery" Radio

The Ghost of the Philadelphia Experiment Returns

release date: Aug 08, 2014
The Ghost of the Philadelphia Experiment Returns
"The Ghost of the Philadelphia Experiment Returns" was the last book published by legendary ufologist Gray Barker. At the time (1984), it was considered too "conspiratorial," and met with opposition in mainstream ufological circles. After compiling the book from articles in his own newsletter, Barker suddenly died, and the controversial bound edition was pulled from distribution. Luckily, New Saucerian was able to locate the prototype, and has made this wonderful work available - at last - for the general public to enjoy. In these pages, Barker deftly explores the lore of the Philadelphia Experiment, offering revelations on a variety of notorious characters, such as Carlos Allende, James Wolfe, Leon A. Seoul, Dr. Franklin Reno, Michael Ann Dunn, the Oppenheimer brothers, and William L. Moore, whose books on the Roswell UFO crash, the Bermuda Triangle, and the Philadelphia Experiment made him the highest grossing UFO author of all time. Barker also shares interesting material from researchers Morris K. Jessup, James Moseley, Dennis Pilichis, Charles Berlitz, and Anna Genzlinger, the Miami housewife who was led by Jessup''s ghost to investigate his death, and who uncovered several fascinating tidbits not only about his possible murder, but also about the CIA''s role in covert mind control experimentation. This special 2014 edition of "Ghost of the Philadelphia Experiment Returns" features several photos, an introduction by paranormal radio host Jeffery Pritchett, and an epilogue by the editor, Andy Colvin, whose father was stationed at the naval yard where the Philadelphia Experiment took place. "Describes fundamentally incomprehensible situations in an entertaining, comprehensible context..." -Eugenia Macer-Story "Required reading for contemporary students of the UFO enigma..." -James W. Moseley "A legend that cannot be stopped..." -Jacques Vallee
