James "Jim" Bowie is a legendary hero in the history of early Texas, mainly due to his use of the "Bowie Knife" and his defence at the Alamo and subsequent death there. A convert to the Catholic faith and renouncing of American citizenship to become a citizen of Mexico was necessary to wed a wealthy senorita and obtain Mexican land grants. Jim Bowie was a plantation owner, pioneer, politician and warrior. To write about his exploits and identify the how and why, I found it necessary to research his timeline in chronological order, from his birth to his death, so that readers will be entertained as well as educated by "Jim Bowie - Life Legacy Legend".
