The gars are peaceful, happy animals living in Garland. Their shaman, Zachariah, helps them to interpret the spirits that foretell their future. But a strange vision bodes ill. The Raven

release date: Oct 19, 2012
The Raven
Back in 2003, Lou Reed paid tribute to poet Edgar Allan Poe with his sprawling album, The Raven. This gorgeous book of art and poetry, made in collaboration with Italian illustrator Lorenzo Mattotti, shares its title with that album and further explores Reed’s fascination with Poe’s work. Reed’s poetically streetwise sensibility and style works in surprising harmony with Poe’s dark chronicles of terror and despair, just as Mattotti’s vivid, abstracted and enigmatic paintings perfectly complement Reed’s haunting, contemporary interpretation of Poe’s vision.

Chimera
Long a superstar in his native Italy, Lorenzo Mattotti has made sporadic incursions into the US via appearances in RAW magazine, the classic Fires graphic novel and the more recent 2003 Eiser-winning Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde adaptation from NBM. Chimera, with its intricate, hyper-expressive swirls of crisp line work shows that Mattotti's genius is bound by no single technique. A wordless fantasia of birth, death, gods, monsters and humans, Chimera is the most astonishing visual narrative readers are likely to see.
