However, our reactions to terrible experiences are uniquely individual. Increased job loss, family discord, and deaths -- all related to COVID-19 --are but a few distressing events that have triggered diverse negative emotional reactions in our society. Given these issues, nobody should assume this situation will conclude neatly.In fact, some research indicates a three-fold rise in cases of depression and anxiety since the start of COVID-19.
