New Release Books by University of Otago Department of History

Twelve essays by history students of the University of Otago have the Maori history of the South Island (Te Wa Pounamu) as their focus. The intersections between Maori and European culture ar placed in the foreground as author examine the construction of racial identities, the missionary project, the misconceptualization of Maori land use underpinning European land purchases, and other topics.
