Popular Mechanics
Before our modern age of computer-aided design, apprentice draftsmen perfected their art by hand. Manual drafting was once a lovingly nurtured and prized skill. Now, the editors of Popular Mechanics have revived their classic handbook in a compact and beautifully produced new edition. Graphic designers, engineers, artists--in fact, anyone who appreciates the craft of hand-drawn design--will be fascinated by this lovely volume. More than an introduction to a different era, this practical course will teach a beginner everything he or she needs to know, including explanation of the tools required, geometric exercises for various difficulty levels, and an expansive glossary of terms. A special course for novices teaches the fundamentals of drafting in seven easy steps. With its brand new foreword by the editors of Popular Mechanics and the original, elegant line art from the 1919 text, this essential course will be treasured by would-be artists of any age.

Midnight Train from Georgia

release date: Jan 01, 2013
Midnight Train from Georgia
Midnight Train From Georgia: A Pip's Journey is a trip down memory lane, especially for those pop music aficionados from the late fifties and extending well into the seventies. Gladys Knight and the Pips made musical history practical for the duration of their singing careers, appearing on all kinds of shows, including the Ed Sullivan show, and the Howard Theater in Washington D.C. After signing with Motown Records, their Mr. Postman became the Number One Record on Billboard. In Midnight Train From Georgia: A Pip's Journey the authors take a trip through memory lane for themselves, and for the reader who discovers detail upon detail of Pip's personal lives as well as the inner workings of the music and show business world always full of intrigue and fascination. Both William Guest and Dhyana Ziegler describe all those fun times they had together. More important, they capture and reveal the historical time in the history of musical performance, the love of family, and the survival in the music industry. The book also talks about Gladys Knight and the Pips having to sue Motown Records over royalties.

Blueprint to Utopia

release date: Feb 26, 2015
Blueprint to Utopia
Great utopian works have the power to transcend time and live in the minds and hearts of readers forever. The challenge with most utopian visions has been the tendency towards the unattainable, towards fantasy; rather than, reality. "Blueprint to Utopia" means to end this problem by providing a credible roadmap to maximizing the laws of man through social evolution. It's intriguing, it's doable, and it will take your breath away. "Blueprint to Utopia" is the magic that can change the world. What greater gift to give our children and future generations than a world without war, a world without discrimination and injustice.
