Bruce Weber is the author of five previously published books of poetry: "These Poems are Not Pretty" (Miami: Palmetto Press, 1992), "How the Poem Died" (New York: Linear Arts, 1998), "Poetic Justice" (New York: Ikon Press, 2004), "The First Time I Had Sex with T. S. Eliot" (New York: Venom Press, 2004), and "The Break-up of My First Marriage" (Rogue Scholars Press, 2009).Bruce''s work has appeared in numerous magazines, as well as in several anthologies. He has performed regularly in the Tri-State area, both alone and for many years with his former performance group, Bruce Weber''s No Chance Ensemble.

As with all of Bruce Weber''s short story books, the settings for these tales span the globe, from the leafy suburbs of Scarsdale, New York to the steamy jungles of Laos, from the desert canyons of the Southwest to tiny villages in northern France, and from a stuffy apartment in Tel Aviv to the banal suburbs of Las Vegas. Photographer Bruce Weber intended to create a book of fashion photographs, however, as he became more involved in the process, his intention evolved into the desire to chronicle how fashion can be seen in nature, architecture, and the human spirit.

At first I thought strictly about a book of photographs on fashion. As I worked on it, I thought more and more about something my friend the late, great fashion designer Gianni Versace once said, in giving me advice before an assignment, ''Call me des mode, but give me beauty''. And with these inspired words I wanted to make a record of how I journeyed out into the world and recorded what most people call fashion. These photographs were not just about the shape of clothes, but also how one sees fashion in nature, architecture, and in the human spirit.
