Seven Heretical Sermons

release date: Aug 15, 2023
Seven Heretical Sermons
Seven Heretical Sermons is a collection of essays in sermon form intended for the layperson dealing with the impact of modern science on theology. Written with a humorous, sometimes sarcastic tone, it reviews the historical development of several theological ideas, including aspects of beliefs about abortion, the origin of religion, homosexuality, evil, creation, and the nature of God; all in the context of modern scientific thought. In the past, when science has appeared to contradict theology, it has been theology that eventually adapted to science. Today that process continues, despite many efforts to resist the process. Here physics and anthropology are mixed with history and textual analysis to explore a new way of looking at religion.

Compiled Poems

Compiled Poems
These are, as best as can be reconstructed, the poems written by David Davis during the largest part of his life. Presented in roughly chronological order, beginning when he was just a boy and going through his early seventies, they include the good and the bad and everything in between. Basically, they amount to a form of autobiography, with a lot of the facts left out. Many present his decidedly dry sense of humor and his odd way of looking at life; others are cries from the wilderness. Deceptively simple and clear, there is often a turn of phrase or line that gives you a kick in one part of the intellect or another.

Words to Live by Daily Devotions

release date: Dec 20, 2018
Words to Live by Daily Devotions
I''m David Davis, I started writing after being told I had MS. Writing became part of my therapy , I''m always looking for a inspiring word as well as giving one. I love writing about my faith in God When I first got the news from the doctor..I took my Bible and spent time in the park every day, there I went through the seven stages of mourning myself. Little did I know, that God was taking me on this journey by writing down my daily devotions with. Him..It''s been over 10 years now and I still continue to journal my deep fellowship with the Lord. My prayer is that you, who is reading these devotions will be moved in your heart to also journal also, whatever the Lord is carrying you through. It is amazing how the Holy Spirit will lead you, once we give up our will. Thank You so very much. Much Love in Jesus Name! God Bless!
