God, Israel, and Shiloh
"God, Israel, and Shiloh" is a gripping biblical and historical saga about the Land of Israel and the Jewish people. After reading this book, you will gain a new understanding of both the religious and political perspectives of the Jewish people who live in the Biblical heartland of Israel. Learn who the "settlers" are. Learn where and what is the "West Bank." Learn the truth about the people who are often referred to as "the chosen people" and how it is that Israel is a nation struggling with its destiny to be "a light unto the nations." "God, Israel, and Shiloh" is written with moving personal stories, psychological insights, and compelling political commentary. This book is about faith and struggle, Judaism and Zionism woven around the special sacred site of Shiloh, then and now. Shiloh was the home and spiritual center for many great biblical personalities, including Joshua, Hannah, and Samuel the Prophet, who appointed the first Kings of Israel, Saul and David. The author, David Rubin, writes about the heroic families living in and rebuilding the biblical heartland of Israel, despite the obstacles in their path and tells his personal story of a miraculous survival from the bullets of terrorism.

Peace for Peace

release date: Jan 01, 2013
Peace for Peace
The quest for peace between Israel and its neighbors in the Middle East has captured the attention of the world media for decades. However, and much to the dismay of those who have placed great hopes in the ongoing peace process, the frequency of war has only increased in recent years. How do we explain this anomaly? Frequent terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians have emboldened the Palestinian Authority as it demands a new Islamic state called Palestine. World leaders irritate Israel by jumping aboard the Palestinian ship as it sails to statehood. The diplomatic efforts frantically continue, but the Hamas, Fatah, and Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations persist in their calls for Jihad, or holy war, against Israel. Why have the seemingly endless efforts for peace borne so little fruit? How can a truly lasting peace be achieved? In Peace For Peace: Israel In The New Middle East, author David Rubin exposes the false premises on which the peace process and peace plans have been based, explaining the confusion about a patently failed process resulting in some thirty years of effort, billions of dollars spent, and thousands of lost lives. Describing the greatly promoted, yet disappointing summits and the various peace plans that have blown up in years of terrorism and recurring wars, Rubin goes on to describe the reasons why the great hopes of peace negotiators have not been realized. Finally, Rubin presents us with the framework for a bold, practical peace plan, entitled Peace for Peace. With comprehensive analysis and lucid description, Rubin shows us how Peace for Peace, which combines historical justice and common sense, can bring a realistic and lasting peace to this fascinating, but troubled part of the world.

On Indian Time

release date: Jan 17, 2018
On Indian Time
"It hadn''t changed, this Indian night world, and it remained indescribable to anyone who hadn''t lived in it. Because to be here, in it, you felt different, you were different. Different things were important, like now, something dense and engulfing in the night, an overwhelming aloneness you couldn''t decide was ecstatic or terrifying." These words were left behind by David Rubin for the back cover of one of his final unpublished manuscripts. In On Indian Time we return to the mythical Indian city of Gauhar, where Tony Archer has been assigned to work as an American diplomat. Only Archer was born in Gauhar and knows the territory and people-natives and a host of European expats-all too well. In this gripping tale of political corruption, romance, social strife, and mystery, Archer also becomes trapped by the enticing lore the city holds in his own quest for self-realization-a quest he''s not sure he''s up to taking.

The Demand for Single Engine Piston Aircraft

release date: Jan 01, 1987
The Demand for Single Engine Piston Aircraft
The general aviation manufacturing industry has experienced a continuous decline for the last six years, particularly in single engine piston aircraft, which dropped from 13,266 units shipped in 1979 to 985 in 1986. This decline has resulted from increasing costs, soaring product liability costs, over production in the peak years, and reduction in the number of student pilots, private pilots and flight schools. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is interested in the future of general aviation activity because it would impact workload and facilities needs. This report specifically addresses future impacts on Flight Service Stations. The study includes a historical review of the industry, a survey of its current status, and an assessment of its future direction. It concludes that techniques for forecasting future activity must be adapted to the changing environment. With the reversal of past trends, traditional methods no longer produce valid results. Sales of single engine piston aircraft will increase only when the current surplus of low-time used aircraft is absorbed or becomes technologically obsolete. They are not expected to return to previous peaks due to an aging population, changing life styles, increasing urbanization, and the availability of commercial aviation. Flight Service Station (FSS) workloads are changing due to the changing nature of general aviation activity, as well as automation, consolidation, and changing responsibilities. New FSS workload measures are necessary to reflect these changes.
