Luffy uwalnia go z rąk niesławnego pułkownika Morgana, po czym razem ruszają ku wielkiemu korytarzowi morskiemu „grand line”. Wkrótce jednak zostają rozdzieleni, po tym, jak Luffy zostaje porwany przez ptaka. Pozostały na statku Zoro wyławia z wody piratów z załogi niejakiego Buggy’ego. Tymczasem Luffy ląduje w pewnym miasteczku, gdzie spotyka ściganą przez ludzi Buggy’ego Nami – złodziejkę specjalizującą się w okradaniu piratów. Dziewczyna wydaje się posiadać niesamowitą wiedzę na temat nawigacji, jednak zadawanie się z nią może oznaczać dla naszych bohaterów poważne kłopoty...
