The Sky and the Sea

What they found was a world that itself, seemed to be alive--shifting and swaying like some gigantic animal. And it was here they found their new home among the rocks and coral, the fish and fauna. Flowing through the waters veins, they quickly became woven into the seas intricate pattern. But they never forgot those who had stayed behind. And they longed, one day, to be with them. Such gorgeous imagery is affecting and evocative... -Clarion Forward Reviews A slim but powerful debut collection of poetry... -Kirkus Reviews

“Engineering, at it’s core, seeks to leverage a deeper understanding of God’s physical creation for some useful purpose”. Penned by Dr. Kenneth Johnson, those words reflect the unwavering commitment of a Renaissance man whose life was committed to serving Christ and bringing hope to those in need. Dr. Kenneth Johnson left significantly more than a tragedy behind him when he left this world in November 2013 at the age of 43. In the words of Dr. John C. Bowling, President of Olivet Nazarene University (O.N.U.),” Ken was deeply faithdriven and a tremendous professor who inspired greatness from his students and everyone around him. He was respected and loved by all who knew him.” Dr. Johnson cooperated with God’s direction in his adventures, and as a result God was able to use him He was selfless, willing to serve, loving, wise, passionate, extremely fun and a radiant of Christ. His infectious personality inspired others to believe in themselves. The ultimate mark that Dr Johnson was and will always be unforgettable for is by the measure he is missed. On his journey, his song was one of joy and purpose. This fascinating book details the journey of Ken the Missioneer, a Man Worth Knowing (family man, missions trip leader, CEO, Marine, etc.). The question we pose is “What Will Your Legacy Be”.

Poems God Gave Me
I have been married for 44 years. My husband, Jim and I have 2 Children, 5 granddaughters and a great grandchild on the way. I don’t sing, dance or play an instrument, but I wanted to do something to praise God; so I ask for a gift to give back to him. He gave me poetry. This book is a collection of the poems that God gave me. I have shared them with others and they are always blessed and so am I. But I always remember to say “God gave them to me because I asked and could not write them on my own”. My book is dedicated to Dorothy Prohl who is my mentor and a dear friend. Thanks go to my husband, children, church family friends and coworkers for their encouragement. And most of all thanks to God for giving me every word in my book.

Phenomenology of Black Spirit

release date: Dec 05, 2022
Phenomenology of Black Spirit
Ryan Johnson and Biko Mandela Gray study the relationship between Hegel''s Phenomenology of Spirit and Black Thought from Frederick Douglass to Angela Davis. This staging of an elongated dialectical parallelism between Hegel''s classic text and major 19th-20th-century Black thinkers explodes the western canon of philosophy. Johnson and Mandela Gray show that Hegel''s abstract dialectic is transformed and critiqued when put into conversation with the lived dialectics of Black Thought: from Frederick Douglass and Harriet Jacobs through to Malcolm X and Angela Davis. While Hegel articulates the dynamic logics that we see in these Black thinkers, when they are placed in parallel and considered together, the whiteness, both explicit and implicit, of Hegelianism itself is revealed. Forcing Hegelianism into the embodied history of Black Thought reveals a phenomenology of America whose spirit is Black.
