Christ Is Time

release date: Apr 01, 2022
Christ Is Time
Christ Is Time: The Gospel according to Karl Barth (and the Red Hot Chili Peppers) welcomes you to the jungle of Barth’s head-banging opus, the Church Dogmatics, with the beats, rhythms, and lyrics of Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Metallica, and more. Based on lectures at Princeton Seminary, Edwards distills Barth’s treatment of key questions in philosophical and systematic theology, offering a playlist of greatest hits on trinity, Christology, prayer, and others. With the care of a scholar and the energy of a stack of Peaveys, Christ Is Time testifies that the eternal God “gives it away” as time through Jesus Christ. Let’s face it: Karl’s style is a bit Beastie. And since Depeche Mode can say it best, this just might be a match made in Nirvana. Go gaga.

She comes masquerading as an angel of light as she is the sweet and well raised young woman you aspire your child to be. But when the lights were not on her, in the dark of the night, she plays with the world and is as lost as the people she is supposed to reach. It is not until conviction has finally caught up to her and condemnation pursues her that she realizes she has been on the fence. Either stay in your comfort zone and perish. Or come out of your comfort zone and evolve.

The Dark Side of Norfolk

release date: Sep 28, 2017
The Dark Side of Norfolk
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." Charles Dickens The fascinating memories skillfully written on these pages, like annals of time, vividly describe varying groups of people who share a distinct neighborhood and a sole purpose in life...survival. Growing up in "Olde Huntersville," an African American segregated section of Norfolk, Virginia in the 1940's and 1950's resembled neighborhoods across America. Everybody knew everybody. From skin hues of light cream to dark chocolate and ages ranging from newborns to great-great grandparents; we had African American teachers, lawyers, doctors, truck drivers, ditch diggers, and domestic workers---all living next door to one another; each household respected for how strong they loved and consistently provided for their families all the while supporting their community. A skirmish might break out on a Saturday night after a game of cards and too much drink, however, a cool-headed neighbor would bring a word of peace and all was well again. It was a place where childhood friends remained friends for a lifetime. It was where students met weekly in a classroom and sang in the same church choir on Sunday. Our goal was simple ---we just had to make sure we stayed on the dark side of Norfolk. "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..."

Hitler

release date: Feb 01, 2013
Hitler
Hitler was the stooge Stalin used to start World War II. Stalin was the "eminence gris" behind the rise of Hitler and the Nazis to power. Stalin envisioned World War II as a replay of World War I, in which the Europeans would destroy each other and be ripe for conquest. Stalin forged the mightiest political control apparatus and largest military machine in the world. In the process tens of millions were executed or perished in the vast Gulag. Stalin planned to use this nightmare mechanism to conquer and control a war-ravaged Europe. Stalin planned to defeat Hitler in a massive surprise attack; Hitler preempted him by two weeks. Nobody knows how many people the CPSU murdered between 1917 and 1991. As you will see in the charts and tables, our calculations (originally done in 1970) indicated that the Bolshevik regime killed approximately 130,000,000 people during this period. Our calculations were recently confirmed by one of the world's leading authorities on the Bolshevik slaughter, Roman Krutsyk, Chairman of Kiev Memorial, who said: "You're absolutely right-the figure is about 130,000,000."

Mathematical Modeling of Neuroglial Communication

release date: Jan 01, 2008
Mathematical Modeling of Neuroglial Communication
Mathematical modelling is being used in many areas of the biological sciences to gain a deeper understanding of the complex mechanisms governing the natural world. No field has more to gain from this type of analysis than the most complex object known, the brain. Glia cells coordinate chemical signalling within the brain. There is great varia-tion in how this is performed, with intercellular communication via gap junctions and extracellular communication via diffusion partici-pating to different degrees within different types of glial cells. Using this as a base, this book draws together existing experimental data and theoretical concepts and develops a new mathematical model that incorporates many aspects of this cellular behaviour. The development of the model is tracked as it is contrasted with other models and applied to a real life scenario. The implementation of the equations into a program is considered and simulation results displayed. The application of the model to real problems is empha-sized, though there is consideration of more advanced theoretical concepts for the interested reader.

Pioneer Suite

Pioneer Suite
This collection will help spark an interest in the development of an American repertoire for the classical guitar. Traditional Scottish and Irish tunes were transformed by the African rhythms of banjo players, which in turn influenced popular music and led to ragtime, jazz and blues. The amount of folk music in America is staggering. The nineteenth century gave birth to many unique American styles and its songs are an important part of our musical heritage. Even today, quite a few of the tunes in this collection will seem very familiar. Written primarily in standard notation, the exceptions being those tunes in altered tunings which logically appear in tablature only.
