The objective of this study is to examine the cost of meeting proposed reductions in carbon dioxide (CO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and evaluate how new coal technologies contribute to reducing these emissions in the Canadian electric power sector.

Within the context of Canada''s future energy demand and declining conventional crude oil production, this report examines recent advances in coal liquids technology and assesses the potential role of coal-derived synthetic fuels in the evolving energy technology mix. The model used in this study allocates, on an optimal basis, all the relevant Canadian energy resources - conventional and frontier crude oil, natural gas, bitumen, and coal - among the potentially available technologies and also over time. The supply cost analysis, production and on-stream development scenarios presented for upgraders, mined oil sands plants and coal liquids facilities are based on a complete re-assessment of the potential costs of all of the major energy supply options, measured against a re-evaluation of the Institute''s CREED model and a linear programming model developed by the Alberta Research Council. A detailed evaluation, undertaken by the MITRE Corp. in the U.S., of recent advances in direct coal liquefaction together with a study published by the Electric Power Research Institute on coal/oil co-processing, formed the basis of the state-of-the-art coal liquids technology.

Description of a computer model developed to account for electrical systemfactors, such as demand, time of use, customer profile and planning horizon, and their effects on system peak demand. The model tests the impact ofelectricity price changes on energy consumption and the demand forpower, by sector. Assuming no change in customer class load curves, themodel is thenused to derive a peak load forecast consistent with a long-term forecast ofcustomer class energy sales. The effects of potential load managementprograms and customer-owned electric power generation in specific sectors areassessed by modifying existing customer class load curves and electricitysales predictions.

This book is divided into two sections. Part A provides teachers with information about sexual abuse and teaching tips. Part B includes lesson plans and activities for use in grades K-5.

Peter Imel (1764-1849) was born in Hesse-Kassel, Germany. His son, Thomas, was born ca. 1795 in Virginia and died in Kentucky. John Isaac Moler(1809-1859) died in Kentucky. Anna Mladek (1839-1913) married Jan Krejci and lived in Chlum, Czechoslovakia. Descendants of the various families lived in Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Washington, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Czechoslovakia and elsewhere.
