This study explores the psychometric properties of a new instrument: Divorce Adjustment Inventory-Revised (DAI-R), designed to assess children''s adjustment to divorce. Factor analysis was employed to examine the structure and internal consistency of the (DAI-R). Four factors were identified on the (DAI-R) which were found to be related to better child adjustment and family functioning. Reliability estimates for the DAI-R factor scales were found to be above.74. The overall DAI-R had an internal consistency co-efficient of.89. Criterion validity estimates for the four DAI-R scales were determined by comparing clinical and non-clinical samples after controlling for demographic variables (age, gender, income, ethnicity).
