Ses anciennes amantes ou amies réappau00adraissent dans sa mémoire. Toutes forment les « filles de la bande » qui se retrouvaient l’été à Cape Cod et ont vu évoluer le monde, de l’émeute de Stonewall le 28 juin 1969, où les gays et les lesbiennes se sont révoltés contre les répressions policières, à la grande marche des femmes à Washington contre Trump le 20 janvier 2017. Un demi-siècle de luttes, sous un regard sensible, poétique, jamais empreint de haine ni de fanatisme. Marie-Claire Blais (1939-2021) est l’auteur d’une œuvre considérable couronnée dès ses débuts par le prix Médicis (en 1966) - de nombreux autres honneurs ont suivi. Plusieurs de ses romans ont été adaptés au théâtre et au cinéma. Les éditions du Seuil ont publié les onze titres de sa série Soifs.
