Social Psychology Across Cultures
The complexion of the world is changing. As the international community becomes more mobile, there are more interracial couples, larger expatriate populations, and a variety of languages and cultures in every country in the world. These new demographics do not simply require understanding, tolerance, and a foreign language dictionary, but an education in communication and coexistence. As people learn to live, love, and work in these new cross-cultural environments, social psychologists work to assess how cultural differences can lead to a host of new interrelational complexities, This new and substantially enlarged edition starts by reviewing the degree to which research in the areas of social psychology and cross-cultural psychology has been restricted to relatively few nations. The key concept of culture is then examined, leading to contemporary formulations of how we may best understand culture and cultural difference. Using this framework, the authors next consider to what extent universals have been identified in studies of, for instance, gender, emotion, personality, aggression, and organizational structures. Attention is also given to the development of indigenous schools of psychology in particular regions of the world. Social psychologists, organizational psychologists, behavioral therapists, cross-cultural psychologists, analysts, and enthusiasts.

Spectorgroup
"For nearly thirty years, the Spector Group has been creating architecture that has redefined the suburban landscape. Anticipating corporate America''s move to greener environments, the Spector Group''s early architecture set the precedent for today''s innovative work spaces. The following pages represent the design and planning of 400 corporate campuses and headquarters buildings, mixed-use facilities, institutional spaces, hospitality projects, retail centers, and multi-family residences. The single thread that unites this firm''s work is the creation of energetic spaces they have termed Lifespaces. The architecture featured here in full-color presents structures of energy and flexibility where the textures of the outside come in to allow the user a welcome freedom to participate in and enjoy the space. This collection highlights the Spector Group''s broad scope of design capabilities, their unique understanding of business, and a partnership approach that looks to the next century for uninterrupted expansion."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc.
