Tác phẩm này đã được bạn đọc bình chọn là "Tiểu thuyết giả tưởng hay nhất mọi thời đại" (All-Time Best Fantasy Novel) vào năm 1987. "Con Kỳ Lân Cuối Cùng" được xuất bản lần đầu ở Miền Nam Việt Nam vào năm 1973.
