The poems in this book were written over a forty year period from 1975 to 2015. Some of my poems might work better when read aloud, particularly in a Spoken Word environment. Others work better when read off the written page, especially if I''ve presented them in a visual pattern.

Politics has always been a blood sport. It seems that over the past few decades this blood has spilled over into our society. People are now routinely being murdered at "peaceful" political protests, while rabid partisanship has replaced civil debate. This book is a discussion of how hate is now the only game in town. It clearly reveals how powerful political groups are using hate to politicize all aspects of society, including the delivery of basic public services. Various real life examples are presented to support this assertion and reveal the depth of this problem. Also solutions are proposed to improve outcomes for citizens for all communities, particularly those who are most vulnerable.
