Collection of the classic 1940''s comics based on Our Gang and Li''l Rascals shorts by MGM which themselves originated in the 1930''s. These comics were written by Walt Kelly after his work for Disney and before he created his legendary Pogo comic strip. Kelly had the original characters from the films grow up and move away in his comics. He introduced his own characters such as Red the tough leader.Younger brothers and sisters grew into prominent characters such as Button-Nose and Two-by-Two.

Jack Acid Society is Kelly''s satirical take on the white supremacist group The John Birch Society, which was making news in the early 1960s. The name is a play on "Jack-Asses" as a adjective.

Pogo, a possum by trade, first appeared in a comic-book feature called "Bumbazine and Albert the Alligator" in 1943. Six years later, he was on his way up through the newspaper columns into the homes of millions of Americans. Today Pogo is as household a word as "blueberry pie," "who''s-got-the-funnies?" and "probabobbly-me."
