He immigrated to America aboard the ship "Brig Rising Sun" and arrived in Philadelphia 26 May 1818. William married Amelia Lewellen 6 April 1822 in New Jersey. They lived in Evesham Township, Burlington Co., New Jersey and were the parents of six known children. Descendants lived in New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana and elsewhere.
