Joshua and Judges in History

release date: Aug 31, 2018
Joshua and Judges in History
This is the student workbook for a course in the biblical books of Joshua and Judges. The student copy contains introductions to each of the five groups of lessons as well as printed lectures, lecture discussion questions, and small group discussion question. The lectures for this course contain a great deal of information that will be new to class members, and it help for each student to have a printed copy of the lectures. The course is conservative and evangelical. It assumes early dates for biblical events based on an 18th Dynasty exodus around 1445 BC. The course also assumes early dates for Egyptian rulers. Such early dates were commonly assumed by most Egyptologists 50 years ago. If early dates are assumed for biblical and Egyptian history, the proposed historical parallels presented in the course make a strong case that the biblical text is historically accurate. The book concludes with an appendix that suggests a chronology for Joshua and Judges based on "early" dates for historical events.
