The Officer Evaluation is a behavioral rating scale used to assess the need for a Fitness for Duty Evaluation referral (FFDE). The Officer Evaluation scale provides a reliable psychological assessment instrument that increases the validity of the FFDE referral process. Once law enforcement personnel are aware that a FFDE referral may be necessary, the Officer Evaluation may provide a standardized assessment that indicates proceeding with or withdrawing the referral.
