Nora the brave little cat wonders what is shut inside a secret room. When the door is left open one evening, Nora sneaks through. With an imagination fueled by books, Nora heroically battles a lake monster in the bathtub.

See the girl in the trees. Catch her if you can. Several centuries ago, a group of ecologists escaped the breakdown of a society ravaged by climate change by vanishing into giant, genetically engineered forests in the North American west. Dwelling among vast canopies that hover several thousand feet above the earth, their descendants fear the cannibals roaming far beneath them and cling to the teachings of their sacred text, The Book of Silvanus. Sixteen year-old Ostrya considers it a burden to train as the canopy's next doctor. But her life's work has been preordained-and she's desperate to reclaim her mother's love. When a cataclysmic storm wracks the canopy, Ostrya begins to face her doubts about the teachings of the book and the laws of the canopy. If she is to survive, she will have to decide if her destiny is in the treetops or on the forest floor.

Nora is a not-so-big cat who shares her not-so-big house with a woman, man, and boy. She alone knows that the legendary cheese thief Gustave has invaded the house. The harder Nora tries to protect her family, the more naughty they believe her to be. When aliens descend upon the not-so-big town, only Nora's little cat powers can save the day.

Angus Clark's alter egos are ruining his life. He's flunking science, his mom is talking to cats, and his dad is insisting on family therapy. As if that weren't enough, he's lost Ivy. Angus must travel to a world of cyborgs and technology to find his friend and clean up after his worst alter ever.

The Crystal Lair is the second novel in the Inventor-in-Training series. Angus and Ivy have survived the pirates and now come face-to-face with prehistoric animals, harsh blizzard conditions, and the worst chores any child has ever endured. Along the way, Angus discovers that he'd do anything to protect his irritating little sister.
