In Great British Birding Experiences Dan has compiled a ''Top 40'' list of the very best that the country has to offer. These experiences vary, from watching huge congregations of geese or waders, spending a night in a petrel or shearwater colony, to getting up early to listen to the dawn chorus and watching skydancing Hen Harriers. The month-by-month calendar approach makes it easy for the reader to dip into the book and find out what the key spectacles they should be looking for are at any time of year. Locator maps and a gazetteer make it easy to locate sites. The United Kingdom is incredibly fortunate to be home to an amazing network of conservation bodies, protected areas, and a plethora of birds in a compact and highly varied country. Every year birds descend from all parts of the world: Brent Geese and Turnstones from Canada, Swallows and Sandwich Terns from South Africa, Sooty Shearwaters from the South Atlantic, Lesser Whitethroats from India and Rednecked Phalaropes from the coast of South America. With this unique book as your guide it is possible for readers to experience the incredible sights and wonders as well."--Publisher''s description.

The Six-Day War

release date: Nov 25, 2021
The Six-Day War
Aftermath of the war that occurred in 1956, the war known as the Suez Crisis. A year after, frictions occurred on the border between Israel and its Arab neighbors due to the Suez crisis which was still very much fresh then. Egypt then got an intel from Soviet Union, a false one though that Israel was massing on the Syrian border. The Egypt president without checking the legitimacy of this report then began massing his troops in two defensive lines in the Sinai Peninsula on Israel''s border. Israel upon being told of what has happened repeated their declarations it had made in 1957 that if any closure ever happened in Straits, this closure would be considered an act of war, or justification for war Prior to the war, the Israeli government had given proper training to the Israeli pilots and ground crews in rapid refitting of aircraft returning from sorties, enabling a single aircraft to sortie up to four times a day. The Egyptian government and armed forces in their preparation had constructed a fortified defense in the Sinai based on the assumption that Israel would attack them along the roads leading through the desert and wouldn''t try to attack them through the dessert. Israel however has other plans. On 5 June Israel sounded their civil defence sirens all over the country. On this night, Israel launched a mass attack against Egypt''s airfields with most of the Israeli warplanes flying over the Mediterranean Sea, the Egyptians couldn''t see them due to the fact that the warplanes were flying at low to avoid radar detection, before turning toward Egypt. The attack Israel launched gave them an edge and supremacy for the rest of the war. On 7 June, Israel Had decimated all Egyptian forces. The question however is how was Israel able to win a war with more than 8 Arab countries against them within six days.
