In the beginning, Dr. Miller wrote poetry to release the frustrations and irritations that accompanied his career. As time went on, he discovered it was fun to write humorous, or silly, poetry. Through the years these poems accumulated, together with patriotic and more serious personal poems. For a number of years, each year, he was asked to write a Christmas poem to be read in conjunction with the church''s annual Christmas program, and these have been included in this book. Eventually he printed some copies of the poems he had accumulated to give to his friends, but finally decided to gather them all together into a single book, which he called Allsides because they were divided into spiritual, patriotic, outdoor and personal, as well as light poems.
