New Releases by Gerard Williams

Although there are many collections of quotations in libraries and bookstores and
on web sites, this is a book with a difference. In fact, it's the first book of its kind. It resembles no other collection anywhere in its presentation of quotations & proverbs.

Two factors make it different:
1. the two-column format, and
2. the brevity and interest of the entries.

And these make for enjoyable, easy, fast reading.

This is not a formal scholarly work. It's geared to conversational use. It was put together with a sense of rhythm, surprise and animation.

And the big difference between this and all other comparable books is its two-column format. After you read the left-hand side, your curiosity compels you to read the completion of the idea on the right-hand side. Reading thus becomes sheer pleasure.

This distinguishes it from standard 'quote books' written for literary, academic or reference purposes. They often contain heavy, lengthy and banal text rather than
entries like those chosen here for pleasure and personal use only.

Open the book at any page and you'll find a brief comment, or introduction to an idea,
or a question, or a provocative thought on the left side, juxtaposed with an interesting completion of the idea or a quotation on the right side.

It's a book for diversion - and for browsing. It's the kind of book you open from time to time and each time find something new in it, something entertaining. As well, you'll find ideas and quotes that can enrich your life.

This is not intended to be a 'study book'. It's intended for entertainment and pleasure
and self-improvement. And the unique two-column format makes it both easy to read
& easy to retain in memory.

Compared with the standard reference book of quotations, this book has a three-way appeal:
1. It's a storehouse of aphorisms and proverbial expressions.
2. It has practical use in conversation, in writing, and especially in speech-making.
3. It offers sheer reading pleasure and stimulation of the mind.
