Désemparée, Marya tombe dans le piège des Heidler, un couple de mécènes anglais connus dans les milieux bohèmes de Montparnasse. Marya subit, effrayée et fascinée, la sensualité de Heidler et la domination de Loïs, sa femme, complice de leur liaison. Stephan, une fois sorti de prison, retrouve Marya.
