John Nickle has been so busy painting during the past year that he''s hardly even turned on his own television set. But he did spend several afternoons at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York City, researching shows from the 1950s and 1960s so he could recreate the retro styles that he loves. Still, he''s always preferred making pictures over channel surfing, and some of his favorite boyhood memories are from time spent with his neighbor, an adopted grandfather and a man with great imagination. Those memories inspired this book.
