Michael Sherman has been a professional photographer for over twenty years. This book is a sample of his work and includes heartfelt pictures from India, Nepal, Africa, Ireland, and New York City. It also includes pictures of dancers, unusual images of musical instruments and in one case the hands of a master builder of violins and other string instruments repairing a vintage violin. Finally there are four black and white images of a young Bruce Springsteen taken in 1978.

In Babel''s Tower Translated, Phillip Sherman explores the narrative of Genesis 11 and its reception and interpretation in several Second Temple and Early Rabbinic texts (e.g., Jubilees, Philo, Genesis Rabbah). The account of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9) is famously ambiguous. The meaning of the narrative and the actions of both the human characters and the Israelite deity defy any easy explanation.
