This book is intended as an aid to believers in developing a daily time of morning revival with the Lord in His word. At the same time, it provides a limited review of the summer training held June 30—July 5, 2014, in Anaheim, California, on the continuation of the “Crystallization-study of Genesis.” Through intimate contact with the Lord in His word, the believers can be constituted with life and truth and thereby equipped to prophesy in the meetings of the church unto the building up of the Body of Christ.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee,1969, volume 3, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from July 17 through December 28, 1969. Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles through the month of July until the end of August. He made a brief trip to San Francisco, California, and then rested nearly the entire month of September. At the beginning of October he visited San Francisco, California; and then traveled to Phoenix, Arizona; Mesa, Arizona; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Las Vegas, Nevada; and San Francisco, California; a second time. After returning to Los Angeles for one day in the middle of November, he visited Yorba Linda, California; Louisville, Kentucky; Toronto, Canada; East Hartland, Connecticut; Boston, Massachusetts; New York City; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Erie, Pennsylvania. He returned to Los Angeles at the end of December. Regrettably, there is no record of his speaking in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Louisville, Toronto, East Hartland, and Boston. The majority of his speaking in Pittsburgh and Erie was recorded in handwritten notes. The contents of this volume are divided into fourteen sections, as follows: 1. Twenty-six messages given in Los Angeles, California, from July 17 through August 21. These messages were previously published in a twenty-four-chapter book under the title Christ and the Church Revealed and Typified in the Psalms. 2. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on August 16. It is included in this volume under the title An Additional Word in Response to Testimonies concerning Five Secrets of Life Revealed in Second Peter 1. 3. Five messages given in Los Angeles, California, on August 22 through 24. The first four of these messages were previously published in The Ministry magazine, volume 2, numbers 4 through 7, April, May, June, and July 1998, and the fifth message was previously published in The Ministry magazine, volume 2, number 8, August/September 1998, as one section of a compilation of Brother Lee's speaking on migration during the years 1969, 1970, 1971, and 1972. The entire series of five messages previously published in The Ministry magazine appeared under the title Migration in God's Move. 4. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on November 16. This message is included in this section under the title Fellowship on Migration. 5. Seven messages given in San Francisco, California, from August 29 through September 1 and on October 3. They are included in this volume under the title Exercising the Spirit and Walking according to the Spirit to Build Up the Church. 6. Three messages given in Los Angeles, California, on August 21 and 22. They are included in this volume under the title Denying Our Soul-life and the Living, Walking, and Abiding in Our Spirit for the Building Up of the Church. 7. One message given in Los Angeles, California, on September 25. This message is included in this volume under the title Helping the New Believers to Be Properly Grounded in Their Salvation and to Grow in Life. 8. One message given in Mesa, Arizona, on October 15. It is included in this volume under the title Needing to Live in Our Spirit in Order to Meet in the Proper Way. 9. Six messages given in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 17 through 20. These messages are published in this volume under the title Enjoying the All-inclusive Spirit in Our Human Spiritfor the Building Up of the Church. There is no record of the first two messages. 10. Four messages given in San Francisco, California, on November 7 through 9. They are included in this volume under the title Fall Conference in San Francisco. 11. Eight messages given in Yorba Linda, California, on November 27 through 30. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Two Trees in the Christian Life. Two of the messages were combined. 12. Four messages given in New York City on December 18 through 21. They are included in this volume under the title Enjoying and Ministering Christ for the Fulfillment of God's Purpose. 13. One message given in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on December 22. This message is included in this volume under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Practice of the Church Life. Its contents were taken from the personal notes of an attendee. Brother Lee spoke two additional messages on December 23, but there is no substantial record of his speaking. 14. Thirteen messages given in Erie, Pennsylvania, on December 24 through 28. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Lord's Recovery of the Church Life. Of the thirteen messages spoken, only two were recorded. The content of the remaining chapters was taken from the personal notes of a conference attendee. Some messages were combined to form the nine chapters in this section. In addition to the above, Brother Lee gave six messages in Los Angeles, California, on August 16 through 21. These messages, together with messages given in 1963 and 1965, were previously published in a book under the title Our Human Spirit. This book in its entirety is included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1965, volume 3.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 4, contains the messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from September 4 through December 31, 1963. In the first part of September Brother Lee spent a few days ministering to the saints in Las Vegas, Nevada. There are indications that he also passed through Albuquerque, New Mexico, for a few days afterward; however, there is no record of his speaking during that time. On the weekend of September 20 and 21 he ministered to the saints in Tyler, Texas, and toward the end of the month he traveled to New York City, where he ministered for more than two weeks. In the month of November Brother Lee returned to Texas for a week to release messages in Tyler and Dallas. The following weekend he stopped briefly in Los Angeles and then traveled up the West Coast to Sacramento and San Francisco, California, giving weeklong conferences in both cities. In December Brother Lee again returned to Los Angeles, where he ministered until the end of the year, sometimes speaking two or three times a day. The contents of this volume are divided into twelve sections, as follows: 1. Four messages given in Las Vegas on September 4 through 7. These messages were published under the title Contacting the Lord, Being Filled in Spirit, and Having Proper Christian Meetings for the Accomplishment of God's Eternal Purpose. There are indications, but no solid evidence, that the last message was given in Albuquerque, New Mexico. 2. Three messages given at a conference in Tyler on September 20 and 21. These messages are included in this volume under the title Experiencing Christ as Life for Our Transformation into His Image. Records indicate that originally four messages were given, but the last two, which were given on the same day and at the same location, were combined into one message. 3. Four messages given at a conference in New York City from September 29 through October 6. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Practical Way to Fulfill God's Eternal Purpose. 4. Four messages given at a conference in New York City on October 11 through 13. These messages were published under the title The Exercise of Our Spirit for the Release of the Spirit. 5. A series of twelve messages given in the Tyler and Dallas area on November 7 through 15. These messages are included in this volume under the title Being Transformed for the Practice of the Church Life. 6. Three messages given in Tyler at various times during the month of November. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Fulfillment of God's Purpose and the Defeat of God's Enemy. 7. Six messages given at a conference in Sacramento on November 22 through 25. These messages were published under the title Experiencing Christ as the Inner Life. 8. Eleven messages given in San Francisco from November 28 through December 1. These messages were published under the title The Relationship of God with Man in God's New Creation. 9. Messages given on two Lord's Days, November 17 and December 15, in Los Angeles. These messages are included in this volume under the title Lord's Day Messages in Los Angeles. The second message was divided into two parts. 10. Three messages constructed from personal notes of Brother Lee's fellowship with the leading ones on December 14 and 20 in Los Angeles. These messages are included in this volume under the title Fellowship with the Leading Ones. 11. Sixteen messages given at a conference in Los Angeles on December 22 through 31. These messages were published under the title The Life and Way for the Practice of the Church Life. 12. One message given at a meeting in Los Angeles on December 28. This message is included in this volume under the section title Fellowship concerning the Body of Christ. There are indications that this message was one in a series of informal talks that Brother Lee gave during the conference held on December 22 through 31. Records of the other talks were not available for publication.

The contents of this volume are divided into five sections, as follows: 1. Seventeen letters written from August 27, 1932, through July 15, 1935. These letters were published in the periodical Collection of Newsletters in November 1933 through July 1935 and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Three articles written from July through September 1934. These articles were published in the periodical The Glad Tidings and are included in this volume under the title The Glad Tidings, 1934. 3. Thirty-two articles and reports published in the periodical The Christian from 1934 through 1940. These articles are included in this volume under the same title. 4. A message given in an unknown location in 1936. This message is included in this volume under the title Concerning the Human Living of the Believers. 5. Twelve letters written from December 9, 1937, through June 5, 1939. These letters were published in the periodical The Open Door in January 1938 through June 5, 1939, and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1961-1962, volume 2, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee in February through October 1961. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1961 and 1962 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of volume 1 in this set. The contents of this volume are divided into seven sections, as follows: 1. Twenty-four messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1961. Messages 1 through 14 were originally published in The Ministry of the Word in February through August. Messages 15 through 24 were spoken on March 15 through September 25. The twenty-four messages were previously published in a book entitled The Priesthood and God's Building and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Three messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March through October 10. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Prayer That Bears the Lord's Burden and the Prayer of Spiritual Warfare. 3. Four talks given in Taipei, Taiwan, on April 4 through 9. These messages are included in this volume under the title A Record of Talks concerning the Lord's Specific Commission in This Age. 4. Fourteen messages given in Baguio, Philippines, on April 14 through 28. These messages are included in this volume under the title Life and Building in the Book of Ezekiel. 5. Seventeen messages given in Manila, Philippines, on April 30 through May 19. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Priesthood and Prayer. 6. Two messages given in Manila, Philippines, on May 20 and October 30. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Sheep Hear His Voice. 7. Six messages given in Hong Kong on May 21 through 29. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Ministry of the Priesthood.

Regarding Brother Witness Lee's travel and his ministry, 1958 can be divided into approximately three periods. The first period is the three months from January through March, during which Brother Lee was in Manila, Philippines, in January and returned to Taipei, Taiwan, via Hong Kong in February. He then conducted three conferences and a few co-workers' meetings in March. The second period consists of the next six months, from the beginning of April through mid October. During this period Brother Lee traveled around the world, passing through Tokyo, Osaka, and Shenyu in Japan (April 8 through 22); Honolulu, San Francisco, Berkeley, Los Angeles, Chicago, Detroit, Pittsburgh, New York City, Washington, D.C., and Toronto in the United States and Canada (April 23 through August 1); London, Copenhagen, Glasgow, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Zurich, Geneva, Rome, and Athens in Europe (August 2 through September 21); Beirut, Jerusalem, and Tehran in the Middle East (September 22 through 28); Karachi, Rangoon (now Yangon), and Bangkok in South and Southeast Asia (September 29 through October 3); and Hong Kong (October 4 through 15) before returning to Taiwan on October 16. The third period consists of the last three months in Taiwan, during which time he conducted various conferences. For the first period we have records of Brother Lee's meeting with district responsible ones in Hong Kong on February 12. The three conferences that Brother Lee conducted in Taiwan in March were on the subject of enjoying God. This is the first time that Brother Lee released the light concerning this subject. In addition to the three conferences, Brother Lee conducted a number of meetings with serving ones on March 4 through 8. He also gave a series of messages on reading the Bible and another series of messages on the vision of the tree of life. The messages given during this period are included in volume 1 of this set. For the second period we have records of Brother Lee's speaking in Tokyo in April in a conference on enjoying God and records of a few private talks. There are two records of his speaking in New York and four records of his speaking in Denmark. In addition, he wrote long letters that reveal some of the meetings that took place during his trip. These letters are published in Church News in volume 1 of this set. After his visits to the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, he returned to Hong Kong in October. There he held two weeks of conferences on God's building. In the third period, upon returning to Taiwan in October, Brother Lee conducted a conference on God's building, with meetings in both the morning and the evening. In addition, he conducted various meetings with serving ones. After the conference, on Mondays and Wednesdays he gave additional messages on the subject of God's building. Almost all the messages given in the second and third periods of 1958 are included in volume 2 of this set. Some of his speaking in October and November is included in volume 1 in the section entitled The Perfecting of the Saints and the Building Up of the House of God. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1958, volume 1, contains messages, personal letters, and reports by Brother Witness Lee from February through December 1958. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1958 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of this volume. The contents of this volume are divided into seven sections, as follows: 1. A message given in Hong Kong on February 12. This message is included in this section under the title Building and Perfecting. 2. A short speaking in an unknown location in February or March. This speaking is included in this volume under the title "The Son of Man." 3. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Reading the Bible to See Its True Meaning and Central Thought and are included in this volume under the same title. 4. Thirteen messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March, October, and November. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Perfecting of the Saints and the Building Up of the House of God and are included in this volume under the same title. 5. Eighteen personal letters and reports that appeared in Issue Nos. 1 through 18 of Church News from April 6 through December 18. They are included in this volume under the same title. 6. Twenty-one messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March. These messages were previously published in a book entitled How to Enjoy God and How to Practice the Enjoyment of God and are included in this volume under the same title. 7. Six messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Vision of the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil and are included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1980, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from January 6, 1980, through May 21, 1982. In 1980 Brother Lee spoke one hundred thirty-two messages that were published in Life-study of Exodus, Life-study of Colossians, Life-study of Galatians, Life-study of Philippians, and Life-study of 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. These Life-study messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee Until the end of January, Brother Lee ministered in Anaheim, California. On the last weekend in January he visited San Diego, California, and then returned to Anaheim. On a weekend in the middle of February he traveled to San Francisco, California. He returned to Anaheim and remained there until the middle of March, at which time he visited Denver, Colorado, and Albuquerque, New Mexico, for four days. During the entire month of April Brother Lee traveled to Stuttgart, Germany, and Copenhagen, Denmark, after which he visited Boston, Massachusetts, and New York City before returning to Anaheim. Brother Lee ministered in Seattle, Washington, over the Memorial Day weekend near the end of May, and he returned to Anaheim and remained there, except for a one-day visit to Fullerton, until the end of August. He then held a weekend conference in Cleveland, Ohio, after which he returned to Anaheim and remained there until the middle of September. On the third weekend in September Brother Lee ministered in Spokane, Washington, and returned to Anaheim. On the first weekend in October he visited Berkeley, California, for two days, and then he returned to Anaheim, where he remained until the middle of October. He ministered in Miami, Florida, on the third weekend in October, and he remained there for rest through the second weekend in November. He returned to Anaheim and ministered there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into three sections, as follows: 1. Three messages given in Anaheim and Fullerton, California, on January 6 and on August 10 and 14. These messages are included in this volume under the title Miscellaneous Messages. 2. A message given in Anaheim, California, on May 19. This message is included in this volume under the title Our Spiritual Situation and the Lord's Recovery. 3. Fifty-eight messages given in Anaheim, California, on February 14, 1980, through May 21, 1982. They were previously published in a fifty-six-chapter book entitled Perfecting Training and are included in this volume under the same title.

According to the available records, Brother Witness Lee ministered in Taiwan during the first half of 1956. In July he was in the Philippines. In August he traveled to Hong Kong, and he ministered there until early October before returning to the Philippines, where he remained until the end of January 1957. The contents of the ministry of Brother Witness Lee in 1956 are divided into three volumes. The first two volumes consist of his speaking in Taipei, Taiwan, in the first half of the year. The third volume is composed of his speaking in Taipei, his speaking in Hong Kong from August 15 to the first part of October, and his speaking in the Philippines until the end of January 1957. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1956, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee in February through May 1956. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1956 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of this volume. The contents of this volume are divided into two sections, as follows: 1. Twenty-one messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in February. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Church as the Body of Christ and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Thirty-nine messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in March through May. These messages are included in this volume under the title Revelations in the Books of Poetry: Seeing the Experiences of God's Holy People.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1965, volume 1, contains messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee primarily from January through July 1965. A portion of this volume contains messages given in December 1963 and in March 1966. During the period from January through July, 1965, Brother Lee traveled extensively. In mid-February through mid-March he visited cities in Texas, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Ohio. From the middle to the end of April he visited Mount Vernon, Missouri, and Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the end of May he traveled to South Carolina and Florida and then went on to Brazil, Peru, and Panama before returning to Los Angeles at the end of June. He also visited Sacramento, California, in mid-July and may have visited the Pacific Northwest. Regrettably, there is no record of his speaking in any of these places. At the end of July he held a weekend conference in San Francisco. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Four messages given in Los Angeles, California, from January 12 through May 25. These messages are included in this volume under the title Exercising Our Gifts to Build Up the Body. 2. Fourteen messages given in Los Angeles, California, the first nine of which were given from January 23 through May 29, and the remaining five of which were given on March 15 through 24, 1966. These messages were previously published under the title The Vision, Practice, and Building Up of the Church as the Body of Christ. 3. Fourteen messages given in Los Angeles, California, from January 31 through May 18, 1965. These messages have been previously published under the title Preaching the Gospel in the Way of Life. The published book contained thirteen chapters. However, during research for The Collected Works, an additional message was discovered. This message is included in this volume as the first chapter. 4. Four messages given in Los Angeles, California, on April 9 through 11. These messages have been previously published under the title The Experience of Christ in Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. 5. Six messages given in Los Angeles, California, from January 15 through April 2. These messages are included in this volume under the title Study on Hebrews. 6. Three messages given in Los Angeles, California, on May 7 through 21. These messages are published in this volume under the title Notes on 1 Timothy. 7. Two messages given in Los Angeles, California, on July 2 and 9. These messages are included in this volume under the title Study on Titus. 8. Four messages given in San Francisco, California, on July 23 through 25. One of the messages was spoken in Chinese and translated simultaneously into English. The English translation was edited for inclusion in this section. The messages given in this conference are included in this volume under the title Summer Conference in San Francisco. 9. One message that first appeared as an article in volume 3, number 1 of The Stream magazine in May 1965. The date and place of the original spoken message are uncertain. This message was previously published under the title The Baptism in the Holy Spirit. 10. One message that was first published as an article in volume 4, number 2 of The Stream magazine in May 1966. There is some evidence that it was spoken in Los Angeles, California, in the summer of 1965. The original article was later revised and published as a booklet entitled The Vision of the Church in 1968. This booklet is included in this volume under the same title. 11. Two messages given in Los Angeles, California, on December 24 and 26, 1963. The two messages were published in 1994 as chapters 4 and 6 of The Life and Way for the Practice of the Church Life, which is included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 4. They first appeared in May 1965 in a slightly different form as a two-part article entitled The All-inclusive Spirit of Christ in volume 3, number 1 of The Stream magazine. The original article was later revised and printed as a booklet under the same title in 1969. This booklet, including the four diagrams that do not appear elsewhere, is included in this volume under the same title.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1963, volume 1, contains the messages and fellowship given by Brother Witness Lee from January 2 through March 31, 1963. Two additional messages included in this volume were given on December 4 and 13, 1962. Most of Brother Lee's time during the months of January and February was spent in the metropolitan area of Los Angeles. During this time he gave conferences in the Los Angeles area. His first trip outside the Los Angeles area in 1963 was to Sacramento, California, on February 25. After ministering there for several days, Brother Lee returned to Los Angeles for about a week. Beginning on March 8 he spoke in a conference in New York City on four consecutive weekends until the end of the month. The contents of this volume are divided into eleven sections, as follows: 1. Seven messages given in Whittier, California, on January 2 through 8. These messages have been published under the title The Believer's Experience of Transformation. 2. Thirteen messages given in Los Angeles and previously published under the title Spiritual Applications of the Tabernacle. Messages 1 and 2 were given on December 4 and 13, 1962, and the remainder of the messages were given over the period from January 12 through February 7, 1963. Messages 12 and 13 were combined to form the final chapter. 3. Two messages given in Los Angeles on January 15 and 17. These messages are included in this volume under the title Prayer on the Ground of Christ's Ascension. 4. Two messages given in Los Angeles on January 19. These messages have been combined and published under the title The Divine Stream. 5. A series of three messages given in Los Angeles on February 3 and 10. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Key to Our Experience of Transformation--Knowing the InwardParts of Man. 6. Four messages given in Los Angeles on February 5 through 10. These messages are included in this volume under the title Highlights from the Gospel of John. The first two chapters were constructed from personal notes taken by brothers who were present in the meetings. 7. Six messages given during a conference in Reseda and Los Angeles, California, on February 12 through 17. These messages have been published under the title The Practical Way to Live in the Mingling of God with Man. No record exists for the third message. 8. Four messages given at a conference in Sacramento on February 25 through 28. These messages have been published under the title The Enjoyment of Christ for His Increase. 9. Ten messages constructed from personal notes of talks that Brother Lee gave to the leading ones during the period from January 18 through March 3 in the greater Los Angeles area. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Times of Fellowship with the Leading Ones in Los Angeles. 10. Twelve messages given during a conference in New York City on March 8 through 31. These messages have been published under the title Experiencing the Mingling of God with Man for the Oneness of the Body of Christ. 11. One message given in New York City in March; the exact date is uncertain. This message was spoken in Chinese and translated simultaneously into English. The English translation is the basis for the English edition, included in this volume under the title The Two Spirits in the Gospel of John.

The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1968, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from January through early August 1968. Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles until the end of January, after which he visited Dallas, Texas; Birmingham, Alabama; and Orlando and Miami, Florida, on his way to Sao Paulo, Brazil. He returned to Los Angeles in late February. There is no record of his speaking in the cities outside Los Angeles. In the middle of March Brother Lee traveled to the eastern part of the United States, visiting Lubbock, Texas; Greensboro and High Point, North Carolina; Birmingham, Alabama; New York City and Buffalo, New York; Toronto, Canada; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Mansfield and Cleveland, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Indianapolis, Indiana, before returning to Los Angeles in the middle of May. During this same trip he might also have visited Boston, Massachusetts; Montreal and Ottawa, Canada; and Louisville, Kentucky. The only record of Brother Lee's speaking on this trip was in High Point and New York City. At the end of May Brother Lee visited Dinuba, California, for two days and returned to spend the next week in Los Angeles. In the middle of June he traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada; San Francisco, California; and Corvallis, Oregon, before returning to Los Angeles, where he remained until the end of July. There is no record of his speaking in Las Vegas or Corvallis. From late July through the middle of November Brother Lee visited the Far East. From July 25 through August 22 he was in Taiwan, where he was joined by over one hundred forty brothers and sisters from the United States and Canada, along with some saints from Brazil, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Denmark, and West Germany. During those days he ministered in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Twenty-three messages given in Los Angeles, California, from January 1 through July 7. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Messages in Los Angeles. Two pairs of messages were combined. 2. One message given in High Point, North Carolina, on March 24. This message is included in this volume under the title Message Givenin High Point, North Carolina. 3. Four messages given in New York City on March 30 and 31. They are included in this volume under the title Various Meetings in New York. 4. Four messages given in Dinuba, California, on May 29 and 30. The first ten messages, given in Taipei, were previously published as a standalone book in Chinese under the title Turning the Age and Living in the Spirit. These ten messages are included in this volume, together with the three messages given in Taichung and Kaohsiung, under the same title.

Brother Witness Lee began 1961 in the month of January by giving a conference to the church in Taipei, Taiwan, in which he released messages on the vision of the church, and by holding a series of meetings with the elders and the co-workers, in which he spoke on being in one work under one leadership. After the conference, during four days of service meetings, he conducted two prayer meetings with the laying on of hands for the co-workers. From the end of January until the first part of April, Brother Lee held various meetings with co-workers and serving ones in the districts of the church in Taipei on various subjects related to coordination, the priesthood, prayer, changing the way of meeting, and how to lead the young people. On February 6 through 18 he held a conference for university students and high-school graduates over the winter school break. A summary of the contents of this conference is included in Church News in volume 1 of this set, but there is no detailed record of his speaking in this conference. On March 12 through 14 he conducted a three-day conference in Taipei and gave messages on the priesthood and God's building. These messages, along with a number of other messages, are included in volume 2 of this set in the section entitled The Priesthood and God's Building. At the beginning of April, Brother K. H. Weigh visited Taiwan and had private times of fellowship with Brother Lee. On April 11 Brother Lee traveled to the Philippines. During his time there he held a training for young brothers and sisters in Baguio on April 14 through 28. In this training he spoke on life and building in the book of Ezekiel, from Ezekiel 1, 37, and 47. On April 30 through May 19 he gave messages in Manila on the priesthood and prayer. At that time a spiritual storm was brewing in Manila in which the leading co-workers rebelled against Brother Lee's leadership in the work. On May 20 he traveled from the Philippines to Hong Kong and stayed for one week. During that time, beginning on May 21 he conducted a conference concerning the ministry of the priesthood. After his time in Hong Kong, Brother Lee returned to Taipei on May 27. In June Brother Lee gave a series of messages in Taipei on the subject of the exercise of the spirit and the building of God. On August 3 through 19, in the morning he held a conference in Taipei on Ezekiel, and in the evening he spoke on how God becomes man's enjoyment. At the end of October he traveled to Manila and remained there until the middle of December. At the end of November and the beginning of December, he held another conference in Manila on the book of Ezekiel. There is no record of his speaking in this conference. The messages on Ezekiel given in Taipei in 1961, along with another series of messages on Ezekiel given in 1971 in Los Angeles, California, are included in the Life-study of Ezekiel and are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. During his time in Manila he also conducted a study on the book of Galatians and gave messages on various other topics. There is no record of his speaking on these occasions. He departed from Manila on December 14 for the United States. Brother Lee remained in the United States from the middle of December 1961 through the entire year of 1962. He stayed mainly in New York City until March 1962, at which time he moved to Seattle, Washington. While he was in New York City, he held a series of special conferences on the weekends. During the same period of time, he also visited Washington, D.C., for two days on January 6 and 7 and San Francisco, California, for three days beginning on February 16. There is no record of his speaking in Washington, D.C. After moving to Seattle in March, Brother Lee visited the San Francisco Bay Area and held meetings on two occasions, in April and July. On August 31 through September 3 he conducted a conference in Los Angeles. More than thirty brothers and sisters from San Francisco and Sacramento, California, joined the conference. The subject of the conference was the experience of Christ for the building up of the church. On the last day of the conference many renewed their consecration to the Lord. During the time when Brother Lee was residing in Seattle, he met privately with a few Chinese students from the Far East together with twenty or thirty other Christians. On November 11 the saints in Seattle began to break bread. Although conferences had been planned in which he would speak in Taiwan, prior to these conferences Brother Lee received a clear leading from the Lord to not return to Taiwan but remain in the United States and begin the work of the Lord's recovery there. This was a significant turn in the move of the Lord in His recovery on the whole earth, especially in the spread of the recovery to the Western world. Around the third week in November, Brother Lee traveled from Seattle to San Francisco and Sacramento. After spending three days in Sacramento, he traveled to Los Angeles at the end of the month. There is no record of his speaking in Sacramento. Beginning on December 22, Brother Lee conducted a ten-day conference on the all-inclusive Christ. This was the first major conference after the Lord initiated His recovery in the United States. The attendees at this conference included an American brother from New York City; three responsible brothers from Louisville, Kentucky; one sister from near Chicago, Illinois; five or six Caucasian brothers and sisters and two Chinese saints from Sacramento; more than twenty from San Francisco; plus the local saints and some Caucasian visitors. During this conference Brother Lee conducted four meetings each day, starting at 6:30 A.M. The second morning meetings and the evening meetings were on the subject of the all-inclusive Christ. The first morning meetings and the times of fellowship in the afternoon were on miscellaneous topics. The conference ended on the last day of the year and was followed by fasting and prayer that lasted past 1:30 the next morning. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1961-1962, volume 1, contains messages given and letters and personal notes written by Brother Witness Lee from November 26, 1960, through September 17, 1961. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry during this period can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of this volume. The contents of this volume are divided into eight sections, as follows: 1. Six issues of the periodical Church News published on January 22 through September 17, 1961. These issues contain letters and reports written from November 26, 1960, through August 23, 1961. They are included in this volume under the same title. 2. A set of personal notes written from December 31, 1960, through an unknown date in 1961. Most of the notes are undated. These notes are included in this volume under the title Witness Lee's Personal Notes. 3. A message given in Taipei, Taiwan, in 1961. The date of the speaking is unknown. This message is included in this volume under the title A Strong Spirit and a Good Deposit. 4. Six messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on January 10 through 31, 1961. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Blueprint and the Ground for the Building Up of the Church and are included in this volume under the same title. 5. Ten messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on January 15 through 24, 1961. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Vision of the Building of the Church and are included in this volume under the same title. 6. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1973-1974, volume 1, contains messages given by Brother Witness Lee from February 20, 1973, through March 21, 1974. In 1973 and 1974 Brother Lee spoke seventy-one messages that were published in Life-study of Ephesians, Life-study of Genesis, Life-study of Matthew, and Life-study of Romans. These Life-study messages are not included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. At the end of December 1972 and the beginning of January 1973, Brother Lee traveled to San Francisco, Berkeley, San Jose, and Santa Cruz, California, and then returned to Los Angeles. The messages that he gave in San Francisco are published at the end of The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1972, volume 3. There is no record of his speaking in the other three cities. From January 22 through February 15 Brother Lee remained in Los Angeles. From February 16 through 19 Brother Lee visited Seattle and Spokane, Washington. There is no record of his speaking in those cities. From February 20 through March 28 Brother Lee ministered in Los Angeles. From March 30 through April 1 Brother Lee ministered in Houston, Texas, after which he spent the next month in Los Angeles. From May 4 through 24 he traveled to Taipei and Taichung, Taiwan, and to Manila, Philippines. The only record of his speaking during those dates was in a meeting with the serving ones of the church in Taipei on May 5. At the end of May Brother Lee visited Sacramento. There is no record of his speaking in that city. He returned to Los Angeles at the end of May and ministered there until the end of the third week in October. Then he traveled to Vancouver, Canada; San Francisco, California; and Spokane and Seattle, Washington, until the end of November, after which he returned to Los Angeles and remained there until the middle of December. From the third week in December through the first week in January 1974, Brother Lee visited Houston, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; and New York City. He returned to Los Angeles and remained there through the third week in March. The contents of this volume are divided into thirteen sections, as follows: 1. As mentioned in the preface to volume 1, Brother Lee visited San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, and Sacramento in May before returning to Los Angeles at the end of the month. He then visited San Francisco in June and returned to Los Angeles at the beginning of July, where he remained until the end of October. In November and early December he spent time in San Francisco and Los Angeles and also visited Modesto, California; Corvallis, Oregon; Vancouver, Canada; and Sacramento, California. There is no record of his speaking in the latter four cities. He remained in Los Angeles from mid-December through the end of the year. From late August through the middle of October Brother Lee traveled up the West Coast, visiting San Francisco and San Jose, California; Seattle, Washington; and Portland, Oregon. There is no record of his speaking in these cities. From the middle of October through the first week in November he traveled to Seoul, Korea, and Taiwan. The only record of his speaking is in Taipei, Taiwan. After returning from Taipei, Brother Lee visited San Diego, California; Denver, Colorado; Indianapolis, Indiana; Akron, Ohio; Arlington, Texas; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Atlanta, Georgia; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Phoenix, Arizona, before returning to Los Angeles in the middle of December. The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1961-1962, volume 3, contains messages given and personal notes written by Brother Witness Lee in June 1961 through September 9, 1962. Historical information concerning Brother Lee's travels and the content of his ministry in 1961 and 1962 can be found in the general preface that appears at the beginning of volume 1 in this set. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Fifteen messages given in June 1961. Messages 1 through 12 were given in Taipei, Taiwan, and Messages 13 through 15 were given in an unknown location. The fifteen messages were previously published in a book entitled The Exercise of the Spirit and the Building of God and are included in this volume under the same title. 2. Nine messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, on August 3 through 19, 1961. These messages were previously published in a book entitled How God Becomes Man's Enjoyment and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. Twenty-four messages given in Taipei, Taiwan, in the autumn of 1961. These messages were previously published only in Chinese in a book entitled The Visions of Ezekiel. Later, these messages were translated and combined with another set of twenty-four messages on Ezekiel given in Los Angeles, California, in the summer of 1971. The combined set of messages was published as the Life-study of Ezekiel. Neither the Life-study of Ezekiel nor the messages that were previously published in Chinese in the book entitled The Visions of Ezekiel are included in The Collected Works of Witness Lee. 4. A set of entries made in Brother Lee's personal diary while he was in the Philippines and in New York City from October 29, 1961, through January 14, 1962. These notes are included in this volume under the title Witness Lee's Diary. 5. Three messages given in New York City in December 1961. These messages are included in this volume under the title The Riches and the Fullness of Christ. 6. Three personal letters written in New York City on December 18, 1961, and in Seattle, Washington, on March 31 and June 22, 1962. These letters were originally published in two issues of Church News on January 14 and September 9, 1962. They are included in this volume under the title Church News. 7. Three messages given in New York City on January 26 through 28, 1962. These messages are included in this volume under the title Christ and the Church. 8. Seven messages given in New York City and in San Francisco, California, on February 11 through 25, 1962. These messages are included in this volume under the title Various Meetings in New York City and San Francisco. 9. Six messages given at an unknown time and place. These messages were originally published in The Ministry of the Word in April and June 1962 and were also previously published in a book entitled Fellowshipping with the Lord for the Mingling of God with Man. They are included in this volume under the same title as that of the book. 10. Eleven messages given in Berkeley, Palo Alto, and San Francisco, California, on April 14 through July 8, 1962. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Purpose of God's Salvation and are included in this volume under the same title.
