She received Newbery's honor. Born in London, Margery Winifred Williams was born to successful and successful parents. The second daughter of a notable lawyer and renowned classical scholar, she and her sister were encouraged by her father, whom she remembered as a deeply loving and caring father, to read and use her imagination. Writing about his childhood many years later, he recalled how vividly his father described characters from various books.The infinite world of knowledge and adventure that lay on the printed page. He pointed out that the desire to read, which soon turned into a need to write, was a legacy from his father that would be his for life. When Margery was seven years old, her father died suddenly, an event that changed her life and that, in one way or another, would affect all her future creative activity.
