These poems were written over a period of several years. They cover a range of topics from memories of segregation in Alabama, to high school loves, to the discovery of an exotic, albeit unsavory, world from Malaysia to the Philippines. This beautifully presented volume is a faithful reproduction of W. F. Pocock's book of 1819 and a major landmark in the publication of architectural facsimiles. It is probably the most important Georgian pattern book not hitherto reprinted. This remarkable work is of fundamental importance in understanding the dynamic story of church and chapel building in the period after Waterloo, and was the only book ever produced on this subject before 1836. The 44 model designs were enthusiastically copied, especially by Nonconformists, and the letterpress provided sound, practical suggestions for those contemplating building. It also had enormous influence in North America where countless buildings can be traced back to Pocock's manual, a compelling chapter in the story of transatlantic architectural history. The original work of 87 pages is accompanied by a scholarly, well-illustrated introduction by Christopher Webster, the leading expert on churches of this period, who sets the book in its wider context.

Poetry. Drawing equally on Buddhist sutras and country blues, William Fuller's SADLY derives compassion from its ironic vision. Quick and sometimes elusive, these poems observe fluctuations in economic markets, the weather, and human consciousness. "Despite the confession that the 'nonexistence of essences is a pain in my heart,' these poems remain confident of 'the insubordination of many/ thousand aggregates swirling up the light pole.' And they generously share that confidence with the reader in return for a politic hope: 'if we could only stand back/ as "they" rather than "us."' Poetry. In this pamphlet-length poem, William Fuller offers a text where language is a wing. Fuller makes perceptible the struggle for the text to co-exist with its human interpreters (both author and reader). We are confronted with a poem which states Land alleges my form / amputated by poetry. In this poem written in memory of Tim McGinnis, Fuller places our mortality at the book''s core: Neither flesh nor word, I look back from where I will go. William Fuller lives and works in Chicago, Ill. His previous books include BYT and THE SUGAR BORDERS (both O Books) and AETHER (Gaz).

The collection consists of 43 signed letters and four miscellaneous documents received by Weed. Most of the earlier letters are handwritten, while letters after 1910 are usually typewritten. One letter is undated. The four documents are: the Library of Congress certificate for the deposit of Stories of insect life : second series, summer and autumn (c1899), which Weed coauthored with Mary E. Murtfeldt; the program from the 16th annual meeting of the Association of Economic Entomologists held in St. Louis, Mo., Dec. 29-30, 1903; an information sheet from the Entomological Society of Washington, with L.O.
